There isn't a damn thing scary about Andre Ward. GGG is the scary one. He is the guy with 21 KOs in a row. He is the guy with more KO wins than Ward has total fights. Ward is the guy who clinches and mauls his way to UDs not KOs. GGG is the two belt unified middleweight champion while Ward is champion of nothing except maybe not fighting much at all. Ward is the guy who won't fight you unless it's in Oakland. Ward is a one handed fighter. He has a good right and a very weak left. GGG knocks them dead with either hand and has never been knocked down or hurt in over 400 amateur and pro fights. GGG almost never loses even a single round in any fight. GGG fears no boxer and least of all big talk, little action Ward.

It is just business. The commission should be looking out for what's best for the sport, the fighters will look out for what's best for their bank account. Canelo can continue to earn money against lesser opponents, and take the risk against Golovkin when he's emptied the goldmine so to speak. I don't like it, but that's going to happen when fighters are running the show. It's on the commission and sanctioning bodies to ensure the right balance is met. However, I there will be some reluctance; I doubt they want to be in a situation where they force a fight that results in a fighter's permanent injury or death.

He has become one of the top draws in the game (now that Mayweather has retired) by not fighting quality competition. At least in the near future, he will continue to remain popular and make a lot of money fighting stiffs like Amir Khan. With the kind of support that he gets from fans and from HBO, he has no reason to take risks. The same concept applies to Golovkin. As long as HBO is willing to pay him $1.5 million to fight the Willie Nelsons of the world, he has no reason to take a risk and fight Andre Ward.
