People who DKSAB call it running, if you have never boxed you'll never understand it

i'm all for boxing with technique and style but f*ck that whole mayweather era of just pot shotting and running for you life and then clinching the f*ck outta your opponent. ain't nobody want to see that sh*t, not even the morenos. they gotta stick with they people but deep down they hate that sh*t too. i still remember when they put wlad's fight on ESPN for the first time and never did it again. what a travesty that was.

How is it reasonable to say there won't be excuses, then proceed to make excuses when your fighter loses? Freddie Roach did more garbage talk than Floyd. That's a first. Ahh, but you didn't show that vid, you only showed the one before. That vid showed Freddie being more realistic in saying there'll be no excuses, because the best man will win. The whole gist of my original post was that Rueben Guerrero talks major trash before a fight & more after Robert loses. You should have shown a video of Freddie predicting a KO, then one of him making excuses after Pac lost, to better illustrate a comparison.

If you were trying to make a point about Freddie talking major trash, that video was a poor example. He was actually talking reasonably there. I think the point was Freddy making excuses , same as Guerrero Sr. I understand why people dislike Guerrero Sr for his attitude, personally though I find him extremely funny, while Roach imo comes across as a c-unt. Surely you cannot compare credentials, but both talk **** and make excuses.

That's not Ruben's fault that Robert isn't an elite fighter. It's not like Robert doesn't fight in the pocket and try his hardest. He does. But styles make fights. He's been matched quite poorly his late career. I'll put it like this: Rueben Guerrero's mouth writes checks, that his son's fighting skills can't cash. If he were more humble & STFU sometimes, he wouldn't get the ridicule so much when Robert loses. Instead, he talks loads of shit before the fights and more after, especially when Robert falls short.

He knows enough to have taken his son to world championships in two weight classes. Clearly he knows something. Whenever Robert stepped up to the big league guys, he fell short. So yeah, his old man may know something, but not as much as he thinks.

Earlier in this thread, I differentiated between Floyd's deft defense & offense against Guerrero, and his blatant running, grabbing, holding and pot-shotting against Maidana. I also posted highlight videos of both fights. I give credit where I feel it's due, and likewise for discredit. Yeah I wasn't talking about you in particular. I just meant in general.

You know, as far as that stuff goes, I just feel like if you don't like it, don't watch it. Say what you will, but it's impressive to me, to watch him completely nullify a persons offense. I mean even when he stands in front of you, stands in the pocket, on the ropes, etc. he makes you miss. People just bring up holding and pot shotting because they want to discredit his style, ignoring all the things he does great. My thing is, if he's so basic and boring.
