Well, personally I prefer a humble fighter who doesn't talk outside the ring much and can back up it up with actions.
Though I do find some arrogant fighters who brash and trash talk a lot seem to be hilarious and entertaining, but there is a point where they take it too far and knowing when to turn it off.
I would say I like humble fighters more _b
Arrogant, no doubt.
This is sports. You're competing to be the best. This is Boxing where the end goal is to literally go in there and assert your dominance over your opponent bu making him look stupid.
Don't have time for that humility crap. Seems so phony.
My God man, do you know anything?

Yeah.
Guys like Frazier were classier than Ali.
Ali was charismatic and had a good sense of humour but he wasn't particularly classy.
Doesn't matter. Just showing you Ali wasn't much different from McGregor. In fact McGregor copies Ali more than anything.
:?!::?!:
That is blasphemy sir.
One is a living legend who surpassed his sport as an icon to the world, with his anti war message and the other is a leprechaun with cauliflower ears who roll's around in a cage in front of a load of pissed rednecks after telling us all how rich/amazing he is :lol1:

I answered "both" in the poll but I tend to prefer humble fighters too.
The only time I like an arrogant fighter is when he's dishing on a fighter that is a bigger piece of sh*t. Like the way Kovalev ripped on Stevenson.
Kovalev is a fighter I kind of like but sometimes I think he's going to say or do something in the future that will make me hate him. Not sure if he's a heartless b@stard or he's just a bit rough around the edges. I like that he fights to hurt his opponent but I would like to think he's not such a bad guy outside of the ring.
Whichever guy is true to whichever stance and whoever is better.
So i always feel most guys who are in sports are not humble, they don't have the ability to work so hard just to not be arrogant in some way. So lets say Shane, he's not outwardly arrogant but more of a relaxed and nice guy....for years i loved to see him fight. Floyd was arrogant to be arrogant and it was fun to see him make the build-up interesting. So its just silly to let someones POV and feelings of themselves sell you short in terms of a fight.
My issue is the lack of graciousness for the sport however.....Floyd is gracious in victory and doesn't knock the guy down when they've lost as opposed to Broner who is classless in, out and all over the ring.
that's cool, i just think he is basically summed up by your avatar, it's kind of a sad representation of our time's. having loads of money and bragging about it = successful, nevermind if you are ACTUALLY charismatic, just be loud and arrogant and people will think you are.
I mean would Ali ever be seen in a picture like that?
:grumble:

Both.
I love the Klitschkos!! true class and humble fighters
You gotta love Kovalev, that arrogant psychopath hahaha.. and Tyson Fury, his mouth buys him everything
We need both. But arrogant looks better on elites, humble looks better on lesser fighters. If you can back it up, talk all you want.
Like Khan should act/talk like Ward, and Ward should act/talk like Khan.
I actually find McGregor quite funny and intelligent. He's nowhere near as good a fighter as he believes he is and not as good as many of his fans believe him to be. But he's a solid fighter and I like the bravado. He's added energy into the UFC and he's their biggest star now that Rhonda has fallen off.
At least he's not crashing press conferences dressed as Batman like Tyson Fury is lol.

I dont get it, when i hear him speak, he sounds retarded, his PR team clearly told him to speak slower so american's could understand him.
I honestly think one of the reason's he's so popular is simply... because he is irish.
I think american's love that whole ' omg the accent ' thing, not to mention a ton of them want to be irish, i mean the whole of boston basically pretends they are irish :lol1:
It's funny hearing him after he got put to sleep 'humble in victory, humble in defeat'
when the FUK where you EVER humble?
he is basically the total opposite of humble.
like i was saying before he's basically a cardboard cutout of the 21st century ' arrogant charismatic fighter '
sunglasses indoors: check
i will knock him out, im the best fighter ever etc: check
im really rich and have loads of money: check
insulting your opponents with school boy jibes: check
lame.

It depends, If you are arrogant and brash you need to at least be funny and/or clever with it and BACK IT UP.
For example, Ali was hated by many people in the 60's and 70's because people really did not like his arrogance.
Alot of his lines were stolen (apparently) but regardless he was extremely charismatic, witty and most importantly backed it up in the ring, incredibly even predicting the exact round he would win.
Then you have guy's like Prince naseem who were funny but mainly because we were laughing AT him, because of his ridiculous ego.
he was a clown but extremely entertaining and could back it up (bar MAB)
Nowadays we have Tyson fury and Conner mcgregor who are apparently the most 'charismatic' arrogant guy's in their respected sport's.
I honestly find them boring as hell, fury is more amusing then Mcgregor in more of a hamed type way, he's a clown but he doesn't really back up all his talk, he's feather fisted and boring to watch.
He's more like your mate down the pub who say's silly things, you laugh and call him an idiot.
I don't know if it's the nostalgia ( i just saw an Ali doc by chance earlier on TV) but today the arrogant guy's are just repeating pre prepared lines, wearing sunglasses indoor's telling us all how good/rich they are, and most people find that amazing.
It's cliched and dull IMO.

Mostly humble but I don't mind confidence. I just don't like arrogance.
I like when guys know they are good but also know they don't need to tell us every 10 seconds. Ward had one of my favorite quotes during the super six. He said "I was raised not to call myself great. We let other people do that for us." If you are in fact great, people will notice, you don't have to keep reminding us.

A mix of both.
A sport needs a variety of characters to make it more interesting. If everyone was cookie-cutter nice guy the sport would be boring.
We need bad guys
