While Khan is the smaller guy with no chin, I want him to beat Canelo. To me, Canelo is the product of good marketing and promotion, great match making. I'm not saying that the kid can't fight or that he doesn't has heart, because he can fight; and he does have heart. It's just that Canelo was fed straight bums for the 90% of his career. I even think that Larry Mosley beat him in their fight, and I know Larry, Larry is know bum, he's just not dedicated.
Cannel then fought a very faded Mosley, he fought a methodical Angulo, he fought Lara and a faded Cotto. The Mayweather fight was what it was, Goldenly knew who would win, but the money was just too good for GP or Canelo to say know to.
Meanwhile, Khan came up through the amateurs and won a silver medal in the Olympics. Khan has a dodo chin but so much heart. Khan is willing to fight anyone. Hence him moving up to challenge Canelo. After Mayweather, and Pacquiao, Canelo is the highest paying fight that Khan can land. At least Khan is challenging himself though. Cannel would never move up 2 weight classes to fight Kovalev. Even if Kovalev agreed to come down to 170.
I respect Khan a **** ton. He's a real fighter and Canelo, while he has heart, is just good marketing and match making.
Khan won't be winning a decision against Canelo. He could win 10/12 rounds, and the judges would still award Canelo a Split or Majority decision
I don't think Khan has the power to knock him out either
So how does Khan win?
Speed kills in boxing, not power or size.
Yea, clearly. Did you see what happened to Lundy this weekend? Let's not clutch onto clever sounding phrases and just be honest. Kahn has average footwork and his speed is in his hands. That means nothing when you don't have enough power to keep your opponent off of you, nor the footwork to get away, or the size to clinch. He can't hurt Canelo and manage to get out of harms way. If he throws, Canelo can eat whatever Kahn dishes and launch into his own combo, which is something Amir can't deal with. It's math, man. Don't let bias blind you from the math.
