That's great!
My initial thoughts about this rumored bout were, 'Walters may be just too big." It's not just size, the guy is talented and strong at 126. But Loma has a few advantages, so it's really an interesting fight and I'm kinda shocked it's even happening...I mean, this one didn't really marinate did it? or even get to high demand. It's good tho. Loma has some pro experience now and his team has always been willing. Respect to both, specifically Loma for not trying to hide behind the lack of pro fights.
This is a great great fight, a proper match up, I dont know who to pick, Walters has the power, Both guys are fast and have good skills, this is going to be a highly technical yet active mix up a lot of combos will be thrown.
I am hearing this isn't official yet. I hope they make the fight. I hope showtime picks it up. If the fight is at 130, major props to Loma for taking it.
See this is why even when Arum protects guys like Crawford I **** with him over Haymon. This fight and the Donaire/Rigo fight never really had to happen if he didn't want to.
Meanwhile Garcia, Porter, and Thurman still haven't fought eachother. Santa Cruz fought Mares 3 years too late. And Stevenson is still fighting nobodies.
the sad thing is if Loma wins and fights a few weaker opponents we will see "Loma coward" threads all around... this guy had the toughest run so far and was willing to fight rigo... we need more boxers like him. We need guys who want to be the best and not fight strictly for business.
he sure is closing in on my favorite fighter spot with GGG.
