It would help to alleviate some of the negativity surrounding him and his baffling stance on remaining anonymous and his "mysteriousness". It's really not a good look. He carries himself around like some Mob boss hit man or something. In reality he's a Harvard educated boxing "manager" who has only managed to skip around the Ali act unnoticed. He should do a sit down full-length interview with a prolific sports interviewer. And basically put everything on the table. His plan for PBC, his plan for his fighters and his plan for boxing in all.
I think it would do wonders. Would bring more positive attention towards him and his agenda.
Why do people need to hear from Al Haymon in order to feel comfortable with him? My guess is none of you asked the CEO of your bank to do an interview and lay out their "agenda". I assume what happens with your money is far more important to you than what PBC is doing.
The majority of posters have already decided he is doing something illegal and do not want to support the shows he puts on. Would him doing an interview change this? I highly doubt it.
I do agree that a public face of the company would be helpful. If Haymon wants to stay quiet he should hire a Schaeffer to be the "face of the company" and handle all public speaking engagements and press conferences.
Someone once said to me Al Haymon has as much to do with Boxing Managment as Tony Soprano does with Waste Managment.
He's a thug in a suit with a Harvard degree. He's a dangerous man.
And that's not even including the shadiness/alleged criminal activities of the sanctioning bodies over the years.
Both we all know what this Haymon thing is about. When you're non-white, powerful, outflanking the traditional cabals, and most importantly, doing all of that in silence, dem folks gets nervous.
Yeah man I hate to say it, but it really does come down to that. They hate to see a non-white with so much control. They can do well but not too well. I've seen people straight up say that they boycott PBC fights. I have no idea why and it can't be because of the mismatches. What great fights has HBO put on recently or have coming up? Credit to Arum for making Lomachenko vs Walters, but HBO won't even air it.
It's funny that people talk all this **** about Haymon when Don King was convicted for murder and both he and Arum were found guilty of bribery and fraud. Plus multiple fighters have came out against them and accused them of robbing from them and other illegal and unethical things. Then you have Oscar who has actual proof of him dressing up as a cross dresser and being in and out of rehab for cocaine.
Yet the guy getting most of the hate is Haymon?

because he would expose his criminal activities.
there is a reason he hides away from any questions, and no it's no because he's shy.
it's because he knows he would implicate himself.
Only one SMALL problem, he would get confronted for having sex with underage trannies. There is a reason why he AVOIDS the public eye. If he comes out, he will get attention and people will start digging up his history.
I don't like how PBC guys are protected, or how some of them act like Divas, but why make **** up because you don't like someone?

Yeah, then they could ask him why he protected giant 5'8 122 pounder, undefeated Leo Santa Cruz from 5'2 1/2 Guillermo "el dador de la calabaza" Rigondeaux.
Why are you bringing race into the equation? Most people don't even have to know that Haymon is black to know that he's one shady individual.
The people who do hate on Haymon, know what his ethnicity is and who his biggest client is.
I don't think anyone gives a **** about PBC tbh, no one outside of boxing even know who he is.
The fact that he didn't hire someone to be the face of PBC though has to the dumbest business decision in the history of the sport.
No Dana White, no Vince McMahon, nobody, and the fighters on PBC also fight on Showtime.
PBC has no faces to go with the Brand.
Yeah I was just about to post that he needs a face of the brand. Oscar was the face of GBP, but it was really Richard Schaefer running everything. Even Richard would talk to the media.
The PBC could benefit greatly from him btw. If Mayweather wasn't so controversial and could actually sound intelligent for more than a few minutes, then he'd be a good representative of PBC.

Haymon is a product of the 'traditional' education system, which is OK...
... The fact that he is 'media shy' even at his age should mean that he really can't cope with 'going public' -- which still is OK, because one doesn't have to be a 'media-friendly person' at all costs...
Whatever he says can/will be held against him, that's the thing I admire the most about this guy, he does what he wants without having to justify anything to the media.
When a white man shuns the spotlight he's a recluse, an eccentric. When a black man does it he's shady and has something to hide.

you guys who think hes going to be assassinated watch too many movies
bob arum has been at it for longer and walks around in the open giving interviews to random goofballs like elie and anyone else with a microphone
likely haymon is just a nerd with social issues
