Just an honest question.
I see so many posters rooting for them to bad ratings, go broke, lose in their court battles...
I know that the easy answer is because it fractures the boxing game more, and in the process there are some fights that cant be made, but then why not blame all the parties responsible for refusing to work with each other?
Whats become painfully obvious to me that there are too many fighters/fights out there for just ONE network. HBO has a tight/shrinking budget. They only have so many dates to give. The math doesnt add up.
So unless we want all the big name fighters to start taking paycuts and the undercard fighters fight for peanuts, the fact is that there needs to be more then one successful boxing outlet.
What say you?
The main thing being overlooked is that there have been a lot of good fights. Not always big names, not always big matchups, but just good fights. The Toe-to-toe Tuesdays card saw 1500 punches thrown in the main event. We're seeing a lot of young up and coming fighters in good scraps. And it hasn't been a year yet.
In only 3/4 of 2015, we saw the following good matchups, fights and/or both:
Thurman-Guerrero
Mares-Santa Cruz
Lee-Quillin
Garcia-Peterson
Wilder-Stiverne
Huck-Glowacki
Broner-Porter
DeGale-Dirrell
DeGale-Bute
Bundrage-Charlo
Jacobs-Quillin
I'm not including fights that 75% of the board didn't watch. So far this year we got Garcia-Guerrero, which was some damn good action on a well-produced show. We've got Thurman-Porter in a few weeks. Looks like Wilder-Povetkin is on the horizon. Spence-Algieri. I suspect we'll see Martin-Joshua on a PBC or PBC-affiliated network too. And that's just in the next two months.
Of course, we all want more collaboration between networks (which by the way we can confirm will happen at least three times this year so it looks like that's being resolved) and better matchups (which we're also starting to see more of). So why do people hate PBC? Who cares? Enjoy it while you can and laugh at their attempts to "post" it's existence away.
I was against them at first because I didn't want to see more division in boxing. But at the end of the day, they're throwing together free fights and I'm down. My only real complaint is their show production and the free ticket crowd that doesn't seem to have a clue about what they are watching. The ring entry from a stage has an American Gladiator look to it.
Thats my only beef with it also , the production has no excitement they should lay out the fireworks and ring girls , its very flat and uneventful the main has no more razz than a 3 rounder , other than that I hope it succeeds .

I'm going to say it how I feel.
All these diva dudes picking Khan, Barrera, Provo/Chaves(maybe), and others are making PBC look much better.
What's a better fight scheduled than Porter vs Thurman? If Haymon succeeds, it's the fault of the competing promoters and boxers.
As compared to what? Any list on the PBC side?
No. My position is boxing sucks. Your position is PBC sucks because you hate Haymon. There's a difference.
Simple:
1. Many fans hate Floyd Mayweather
2. Floyd Mayweather is managed by Al Haymon
3. PBC is controlled by Al Haymon
So let's solve the equation:
Hating Mayweather = Hating Haymon = Hating PBC
This is true as well! Explained and broken down perfectly but looking at it this way, people who do this are so fuking stupid:no:
This:
Simple:
1. Many fans hate Floyd Mayweather
2. Floyd Mayweather is managed by Al Haymon
3. PBC is controlled by Al Haymon
So let's solve the equation:
Hating Mayweather = Hating Haymon = Hating PBC
which is because of this:
Same reason they ran King out of the sport but Arum is alive and kicking
Black people are here to entertain white people. They don't want us to have any real power. White people love Kanye but threw a fit when he asked them to support Tidal (a black business). Same reason black fighters are accused of ducking while white fighters have promotional issues. Same reason Kovalev can call a black fighter a ******* and get defended while Stevenson is still persecuted for a crime he committed in his teens and served time for. Same reason ndamukong suh is considered a "dirty player" while white players "play thru the whistle". Same reason Peyton Manning can sexually assault a woman and gets hidden by the media while Winston gets crucified for a false rape charge.
Simple:
1. Many fans hate Floyd Mayweather
2. Floyd Mayweather is managed by Al Haymon
3. PBC is controlled by Al Haymon

Because some boxing fans are overly weird these days.
A lot of the guys who hate HBO love PBC, while guys who love HBO hate PBC. It's got to be one or the other, TV station, fighters, promotional companies, trainers, stables. Pacquiao or Mayweather, Golovkin or Ward.
I do hate all the in house fights from all sides however. Sort of used to it by now though.
I don't like Haymon. Not only is he a criminal, he encourages "fight bums for big bucks" which is the reason so many big fights aren't getting done when they matter.
Also PBC has cheap production values and weak matches.
Its free and its boxing wtf is wrong with you and its making dam good matches for free I cant understand why any genuine boxing fan would want to see PBC fail .
I don't want it to fail, in fact I'd like it to succeed. The problem is it has created a spoiled entitled culture that has guys like broner wanting 5 million to face Garcia. These guys are being overpaid for fighting cans that they don't even entertain the idea of a challenging fight unless it's for a lot of money. And why would they? Because of this we suffer as fans and get excited for good matchups like Thurman porter when that should be the norm. That's my problem with it but it's also my problem with boxing in general . HBO does the same bull****.
Kind of misses the whole weakly tomato can issue. Haymon is trying to copy the UFC model without having interesting fights.

SIMPLE...Because their favorite fighter is not with them, they favorite fighter is on HBO :dunno:
This is what the Mayweather vs Pacquiao ERA produced, these new "Pick A Side And Bash The Other Side" type of fans. Then you have grown Men within the Boxing Media who placate to those Simple Minded Fans causing even more of a Division between Boxing Fans.
I Support all formats regardless if it is HBO or PBC and I watch and support all Promotions Events because I am a BOXING FAN!
Al haymon, who has pretty much never did an interview and is paying fighters well (they all say it) is somehow ruining boxing and is g@y, Ive never understood the logic. al gaymon??????? how tacky n lame!
