Garcia has had a lot of very close fights in his career, many of which he could have easily lost on the scorecards but was lucky to escape with the W. Which of these fighters do you think actually beat him?
Mauricio Herrera (officially majority decision)
Lamont Peterson (offically majority decision)
Kendall Holt (officially split decision)
Ashley Theopane (officially split decision)
Robert Guerrero
Zab Judah
Lucas Matthysse
The Herrera bout was a disappointment. It brought back memories of Rios Vs Abril. Not that it was comparative in terms of how off kilter the judging was mind. More in the sense of bringing to the fore that sometimes what goes on inside the ring can be secondary to the plans that are being laid outside of it.
Both decent enough boxers performing at the top of their game with little fan fare trying to edge a decision when they've been brought in to merely act as stepping stones to bigger pay days for fighters with heftier backers and bigger fan bases.
Barring a knock-out there's not much to be done when next to no one wants to see you win.
Anyone voting for Matthysse is an idiot.
Other than that, they were all close fights but in the case of Theophane, Judah and Peterson, they were undoubtedly wins. An argument could possibly be made for a Holt win or a draw and the same goes for the Harrera fight. I scored them all for DG.
None of those fights/results were a robbery.
he also should have been dq'd against lucas for that rabbit punch that sent him in between the ropes where he was defenseless. i don't think he has any power when he hits people in legal regions.
Good point. You can also make a good case for DQ in the Salka fight as well, for not getting the ko in the first round.
He should have been disqualified in the Khan fight, for an illegal punch in the NECK. So, that would make 3 unofficial losses by my measure. Herrera, Theophane, Khan (by way of DQ.)

Only morons say Peterson beat Danny. Dude did nothing for 8 rds and then went off the last 3-4. Can't win a 12 rd decision like that. Herrera fight was a draw or 7-5 Herrera. Danny ain't win 7 rds in that fight but who cares??? It was a close fight. Plenty of boxers have gotten favorable decsions. Peterson got two, one vs Khan and the other vs the Dominican dude. Nobody cares though.
I had him losing to Peterson and Herrera by atleast 3 or 4 points.
On a side note, the judge who turned in the 114-114 card for Holt should have been fired on the spot.
Danny Garcia - 32-0.
He should have taken lost against Herrera, or at least have a rematch against Herrera.
Overall, I don't complain because he's at least fighting and staying active. His opponents have been solid. We can't say that about a lot of active fighters.
