It's boxing not rocket science here people..... GGG said he'll negotiate weight with Canelo, just not as the mandatory for the WBC title...
All Canelo has to do is negotiate all the reasonable terms he wants, including weight at 155, with one bold tactic...
Tell GGG if he meets Canelo's reasonable demands, Canelo will vacate the title to GGG before the fight... This tactic will remove the principal reason team GGG will not yeald on weight negotiation...
The whole perception premise will change... Instead of Canelo using 155 CW as a shield or duck excuse... (Which is the current perception.) The pressure will be on GGG to accept a Super Fight vs Canelo at 155... Otherwise he would be ducking a big money PPV vs a Big name opponent in a fight he stated he would consider in a non mando scenario....
If Canelo does this, he will still be fighting for 4 unified Middleweight titles at 155, exactly the same as if he didn't vacate.... Honestly, the only difference is who owns what before the fight... The winner will emerge with all the belts...
The main criteria both sides are asking for would be met in this scenario... No excuses....
Look, if Canelo doesn't do something like this, he will be stripped of the title anyway...
It's the correct move if Canelo wants to fight GGG at 155...
The only 2 questions are these " Do you really want to fight GGG at 155 for all the belts, huge $$$ and legacy? " If you do, then make it happen...
" Are you really willing to fight Canelo at 155 in an non mando scenario, for huge $$$ and legacy? " If you do, then make it happen....
Personally, I'm tired of excuses and the posturing.... I am not taking sides or playing favorites here....This is a objective solution to the stated issues... I want to see this fight like everyone else...
Really ???
... Canelo Alvarez has never called out Golovkin for a fight, so there goes your idea
In the ring, in a live interview, after Canelo beats Cotto....
Max Kellerman asked Canelo Alvarez point blank, what he wants next...
Canelo says He'll put on the gloves right now and fight GGG.... He said is ready to Put on the gloves and fight GGG right now !!!! He said it more than once, in fact...
I think that constitutes Canelo calling out GGG, there goes your defense.... You should check the tape if your memory is a bit fuzzy...

Catchweight at 157 pounds.
Canelo is the rockstar (160 pounds too much for him).
Golovkin is the super-champion (155 is too low).
Let's fight at 157~158 pounds.
" They'll meet at 160 the real Middleweight limit and make a great payday for both.
To me GGG is the champ I don't hold any importance to any belt their all watered down now anyways "
" To much money to be made they'll fight, at 160lbs!

I agree with the premise, but it's not about pride, prestige and honor anymore.... The world is changing everywhere, principles are melting away.... It's terrible.... Right and wrong seem to be opinions blowing in the wind, changing to suit subjective special interests....
Boxing reflects this also... It's about what you can get with the minimal effort necessary... That's why so many mismatches are the new norn....
To insure Canelo and GGG takes place, concessions might be unavoidable... Once upon a time, there would be no question... Now, with the governing bodies compromising as they do... Catch weights in title fights are tolerated...
They are the ones who can regulate this... If they mandate that no catch weight in championship fights is Permissible and non negotiable, then this would stop... All losing champs get stripped if they lose... That's the risk they take... It's purely for Cash and bragging rights in CW fights.
That said, I'd rather see Canelo vacate and fight a CW witth GGG then no fight at all...
Everyone involved is just keeping the interest going. They'll meet at 160 the real Middleweight limit and make a great payday for both.

GGG has fought his career at 160 he is undefeated champ and Canelo has a 160 belt from fighting a blown up welter. Cotto vs Canelo should have been a junior middle at 154+1 and there should have been NO belt involved.
Why these fighters and promoters are trying to rewrite the weight division is beyond me but the public is so stupid now they can hype anything (Floyd vs Berto) and get away with it!
Fans aren't to savvy these days the fanboys buy into anything as long as their "favorite" has an edge, so they think!
To much money to be made they'll fight, at 160lbs!

Floyd vs Berto was an easy goodbye fight its not hard to figure that out , look at the sell for Manny Bradley we all know it was a very poor choice but Manny is thinking its my last I want not much risk and picks a guy he has beat twice already .
I give a lot of leeway for long term champs fighting an easy last fight , they earned that right .

I think when the gods of boxing finally say righto lets make this fight I feel they will meet at something like 156-7 , if GGG is serious he will just split the difference with weight and say sign the contract and if Canelo is serious he will agree to meet in the middle .
