...if they were in the same weight class? Have never seen a full-length fight of his, but after seeing a few different highlight videos of him and hearing certain trainers talk about him, dude looks incredible.
would be a boring a$$ fight that i would not want to watch, it would look like a sparing session with the fighters only focusing on defence and slips no KO or brawling only impeccable defenc. mayweather wins by decision because he's got experience
Assuming they were similar size Floyd would take a few rounds to get use to Rigondeauxs speed which I think is what makes him so good to begin with (not saying his boxing skills are bad but his reflexes are sharp). If lesser fighters can clip him than I have no doubt Floyd will eventually time him. If there is one thing Rigo doesn't like it is being hit consistently. Not saying Mayweather stops him but I think he cruises to a UD over a reluctant Rigo after he starts to hit him a couple of times.
One guy went 19 years undefeated against a lot of elite opposition and only touched the canvas once i think? and that was a balance/flash KD type of thing.
The other has fought 1 fighter in the top 30 of his division, been dropped and smacked around the ring by journeymen and shown holes in his defence.
Let me think...
Nah but to be serious... Rigo was a great amateur but he hasn't really proven much as a Pro and he's not getting any younger. It's not like he would even have a lot of old pro tricks that come with his age like Floyd or Hopkins do. Fantastic amateur, plenty of skills but p4p against someone like Floyd or Hopkins, they would take him to the professional game school.

Yes he would be to much for Floyd
rigondeaux would have won in the amateurs. floyd outclasses him in the professionals. they're completely different sizes and levels of fighter.
rigondeaux looked good for a couple of years. he needed to learn how to box pro, and he did. then he started to slide. rigondeaux may be 40 years old for all we know. he's listed at 35, and cuban and other athletes from developing countries have been known or suspected of doctoring birth certificates to boost their athletic careers in their youth.
Floyd would win a decision in a boring fight.
I can picture even Floyd getting annoyed during the post fight interview and call Rigondeux a "runner" who doesn't come to fight.

It would have been a chess master fight. Just because Floyd can't read a page out of a Harry Potter book doesn't mean he can't think good. (Sic)
