Every fighter out there has his fans and his haters. Sometimes the hate is justifiable, sometimes entirely misguided, being based upon factors completely beyond the fighter's control such as racial background, aesthetic appearance or even vocal nuances and idiosyncrasies, as was occasionally witnessed in the cases of Chris Eubank's regal twang, Mike Tyson's lisp, or Wladimir Klitschko's eastern European accent etc..
Anyway, Khan is a fighter like many others who seems to attract his fair share of haters. Some of you reading this will still stand firm in your hatred, but some may now be starting to appreciate that Khan has always tried to chase the best fighters out there and the Canelo fight is just another example of this. We know he was denied fights with Mayweather, Pacquiao, Marquez and Bradley, among others, but he always tried to fight the perceived best fighters.
So what's your position circa Feb 2016: Are you a Khan convert now and has your hatred disintegrated in light of Khan's courageous move to face Canelo without trying to drain him down to 152 like others have, or do you imagine yourself remaining a hater for life regardless of what Khan does, or tries to do?
Khan convert or hater 4 life? It's decision time, the clock is ticking and May 7th is just around the corner.
I got no beef with Khan, he tried to fight Mayweather, best of our generation, P4P king, for 3 years, that kept falling through.
Tried to fight Pacwuiao (2nd best) that fell through.
Now he finally landed a fight with Canelo who is 3rd best option in the entire game of boxing.
If Canelo fell through, he probably would have tried to fight Garcia who is a top ten P4P guy, or Cotto who is a HOF.
So at the end of the day...how can you be mad at that?
People will always find a way to cry and hate on any boxer.
Complete 180 on my part. My biggest beef with fighters to day is they don't dare to be great. Khan is doing just that so he gets my full respect and support. When other fighters dare to be great, I will support them as well.
Possibly, possibly not. They said the same thing about Khan vs Maidana and Khan actually dropped Maidana while Floyd had 24 rounds to fight him and couldn't even drop him. Khan also dropped Collazo while Thurman couldn't do that.
Anyway, back to Floyd - if Khan outperformed Floyd against Maidana (in my opinion Khan fought a better version), Judah (admittedly an older version) and Ortiz (admittedly as an amateur), there is a possibility he can at least be competitive against Canelo - although of course he isn't fighting a drained Canelo like Floyd did, or a green Canelo for that matter. He is fighting Canelo in his prime and his optimum weight. But he's not fighting a heavyweight, and he's sparred lots of middleweights before too. Intriguing fight either way you look at it.
Respect to Amir for dreaming big, if he could somehow win i have no doubt that he would tempt Floyd out of retirement. Can anyone imagine Kell Brook taking on a challenge like this?
This is what happens when taxi drivers are involved in contract negotiations.
Khan is foolish for taking this fight, brave, but foolish.
Absolutely.
His father has just signed him into what I consider a 100% unwinnable fight. He's now going to have to sit ringside and watch his son get bludgeoned.
Canelo is nothing like that raw version of Maidana, and the concern is his team don't see it.

Neither.
I'm a Canelo fan and while I appreciate the bravery of Khan, I'm genuinely concerned for him. I don't quite think his team have properly thought this through.
