If Canelo fights GGG and manages to pull off the victory (especially by KO... Imagine that) and called out Mayweather after the fight because he wanted to avenge the one loss in his career, you think Floyd could be compelled to return and fight Canelo as his 50th? And do you think Canelo could pull out the victory over Mayweather?
Absolutely Not.
Of course Mayweather is getting older and eventually time will catch up with him if he continued to fight. But, atlthough Canelo is getting better he showed no indication of being better fighter to best Mayweather. It seemed the people he fought who boxed for the slightest bit gave him trouble. Although impressive wins of Angulo and Kirkland they where pretty much stationary targets also defenses had more holes than swiss cheese. Also since he was absolutely dismantled against Mayweather it would seem unlikely he would beat him and the fight not happening.
That fight would be just helping some random guy pay his college tuition by betting on Mayweather

No way Floyd would come back if that was the case.
You got it backward, friend.
The only way Floyd fights Canelo again is if GGG KO's Canelo.
As good as Floyd looked in that fight with Canelo, he was barely missing Floyd. No reason for him to try to take on a punch from someone that strong. Canelo is easily the strongest person he's ever faced. So no. With Saul getting better and Floyd getting older it makes no sense for this fight to ever go down no matter how much money Floyd could make. Now lets say Canelo faces GGG in May, wins by KO and then faced Mayweather in September and loses like he did before? I'd probably lose my **** but its not probable
The best post on this thread, some people here sound ridiculous really. Mayweather is past that point of taking time out and taking on elite fighters I believe, Canelo will put it on him in my opinion.

Mayweather gets destroyed Canelo is the A-side mayweather wont be able to drain him now!
Canelo would never be the "A-side" versus Mayweather. That's just silly talk lol.
I don't think Canelo beats GGG today, but he could have a shot by the time it happens. I don't think they fight until Cinco De Mayo of 2017. I think Canelo will fight 3 times prior to GGG. The 2nd one will have to be a big name in order to save grace. I wouldn't be surprised if they allow Pacquaio to cash out against Canelo, a name in September that would help us forget he should be fighting GGG. We still buy the fight and Canelo's camp buy's time.
However, his style and skill set do not bode well against Floyd.
What's the point in a 2nd fight between Floyd and Canelo?? The first one was a total whitewash... an embarrassment. Why would we want to watch a continuation of this??

And do you think Canelo could pull out the victory over Mayweather?Canelo can't beat GGG in my opinion. If he could he could of course easily beat welterweight Mayweather, again in my opinion. Mayweather is 38 years old and rightfully retired. He is extremely wealthy with a great undefeated record. I seriously doubt he comes rushing out of retirement every time an active fighter has a big win. By having Canelo beat GGG you are changing him into a better fighter than he probably is. If you want Canelo to rematch Mayweather just do it without involving GGG. Mayweather easily won the fight with Canelo. I would pick Canelo to win a rematch. He has improved a lot since the first fight. He is stronger and smarter and closer to his prime. Mayweather is older, slower and further past his prime. I am assuming the rematch takes place at the middleweight limit of 160 or at least at the full 154 Jr middleweight limit. Mayweather is a great old welterweight. He can probably beat any welterweight even today. I don't think he can any longer defeat the bigger, stronger Canelo. I am certain GGG would knock Mayweather out at 154 or at 160. This is all strictly my opinion. Nobody knows for sure how these fantasy fights will go unless they happen in real life.
I don't see why Floyd would come out for that fight. Canelo is certainly a big draw and fans would like to see the fight but I think the results would mirror that of the first fight. Floyd is too smart and his ability to disguise distance would leave the Flat footed Canelo swinging at air once again.

still butt hurt ??????
Floyd looked better against Berto than Alvarez did against Cotto, why any of you think your looking at a "better" Saul is questionable
Floyd didn't show nearly as much offensively against Berto as he did against Pacquiao, or anyone else for that matter, and it wasn't because Berto was doing anything to trouble him. Berto basically spent that night smothering his own punches but Floyd seemed unable to do much with that.. IMHO Floyd looked shot in that fight and shouldn't return.
Mayweather gets destroyed Canelo is the A-side mayweather wont be able to drain him now! mayweather is the A-side and he toys with alvared even easier.by the way. alvared drained himself and it still won't make a difference at any weight. he's not good enough to beat mayweather
I thought Mayweather looked bad against Berto personally, and would not want to see this fight. Or any fight involving Mayweather for that matter. still butt hurt ??????
He's maybe a top 20 p4p fighter now but if he beat GGG he would have arrived and Floyd would get credit for besting him. But why don't Floyd jet beat GGG?
he doesn't want to fight a guy in his prime...

Yes, and no.
If Canelo stops Golovkin, to become WBC/WBA/IBF 160 champion, Floyd-Canelo 2 (depending on the type of numbers that Alvarez-Golovkin does) becomes a 2m-3m PPV buys show; Floyd, with the layoff, seems more mortal, Canelo, with his run of wins, now looks to be heading into the prime of his career, the size factor is still a key issue, and Floyd would also be chasing 50-0. utter blockbuster.
After all of the hoopla, when the fight actually commences, the reality of the situation will still settle in; Canelo's the bull, while Floyd is arguably the greatest matador to ever compete. Canelo tries to move in on Floyd, but Floyd's understanding of the ring, his freakish length, the fact that he's kept his body fit, and all of that veteran guile picked up, over a life dedicated to the sport is enough for him to work to a hard-fought 8-4 decision win.
I don't think so. Canelo isn't just that good that they make him out to be.
