Povetkin was the one that needed more time to prepare when the fight was on the table. They will fight next and Povetkin will be put to sleep like Szpilka. Povetkin wanted to prove to all who said he can't fight tall people by taking out Wach.

Maybe I'm naïve but I think it's up next. The fight's been marinating for so long and Wilder and his handlers must know they're up against the wall now. Wilder has also stated publicly that he has to fight his mandatory next, so another avoidance would look really bad on his part. Of course a unification would trump a mandatory, but everyone would see that as a duck and a mammoth cherry pick considering how poor Martin looks, the manner in which he won the belt and how the belt was made available in the first place. I actually think Wilder doesn't mind fighting Povetkin, and I also believe he wins when/if it gets made. He rose to the occasion once before, and I have no doubts he does the same again. Povetkin would be by far his toughest challenger, but there are a number of stylistic factors that make me tip this fight in favour of Jonty. Styles make fights might be the hoariest old cliché in boxing, but it's very applicable here. It'd be a shame if Wilder's handlers try to steer this another course, as it all comes down on Wilder's head as far as the public's concerned if Povetkin gets bypassed yet again.

Well, Wilder said in his post fight interview that he has mandatory dues to fulfil... But, of course, a unification fight trumps that - so we could see Wilder vs Martin.
