Shouldn't Mexico be dominating Puerto Rico in boxing considering the sizes of the two countries? But instead it seems that Puerto Rico not only holds its own, but they are constantly giving Mexico L's.
Very interesting how that works...
Good point, for every 1 PR fighter there's like 10 Mexican fighters, but then they have this big rivalry. My PR friend, who was raised in PR said boxing there is much different, the government actually supports kids with boxing. He told me boxing is free there, as far gyms/training. Also realize, amateur boxing in Puerto Rico is also supported big, while in Mexico you hear constantly pro boxers saying there's not much support for amateurs there. They use a pro career to learn basically "on-the-job". Which is why you see so many Mexican boxers so young with a lot of fights already, against poor opposition, to learn. PR boxers, look at Cotto, very good amateur. Look at Felix Verdejo, great amateur career.
In short, it's their amateur system.
a recognized rivalry by the media and by puerto ricans maybe.
It don't matter who we fight we always tune in to see our warriors do battle no matter who it is against :boxing:
When you say "we" who are you referring to?
If only more Mexican fighters focused more on their defense instead of blocking punches with their face to show how much of a "warrior" they are, then we can actually start seeing some more wins.
Never said there was any beef, it is a recognized rivalry regardless what you say and the masses will tune it to check it out

ok well whatever the point is puerto rican fighters don't bother us at all, the only fighter that ever sort of did was Manny Pacquiao.......
and you take these forums too seriously who cares what some trolls say, most mexicans actually respect puerto rican fighters and everybody else no matter who we fights its business as usual why would we have beef with Puerto Ricans? LOL

Manny did not crush mexican fighters. He went 1-1-1 against the big 3. Watch this site when a PR fighter is on and you read the comments that a lot of ppl leave here. Your proof will be right there

Well, maybe you guys should start taking the rivalry a little more serious. Especially considering the fact their small little island is able to trouble you guys so much in relevant fights.
But you know what's a better rivalry altogether? USA vs Mexico in boxing. Mexico can't catch a break on that one. :lol1:
USA and Mexico have a rivalry in boxing now too?? LOL Everybody wants a rivalry against us just shows how dominant we are in this sport, threads like this solidify that :boxing:
Keep us on your mind :lol1:

Literally who?
LOL This is comedy, how do Mexicans fans "suffer" when Puerto Rican fighters are doing good?? Explain this :lol1:
And in case you haven't noticed Mexicans love to watch fights period, we are a large market in this sport and one of the reasons it is still thriving, it don't matter who Mexicans fight we will pay to watch regardless, Mexicans going up against Puerto Ricans makes no difference, I agree the media jumps on it though, duh.... they are the ones who have perpetuated this "Big rivalry" between Mexico and Puerto Rico in boxing.
When in reality we can careless. Probably the only fighter that ever got under our skin as fans was Manny Pacquiao because in his prime he crushed all of our beloved fighters while they were at the top, but we have taken care of that already.... :boxing:

What numbers are do you guys keep talking about anyway?
We like watching Mexicans fight period, it don't matter against who... everybody likes watching Mexicans fight, again it don't matter who.
The media has perpetuated this whole "Puerto Rico/Mexico rivalry" but in reality no matter who Mexicans fight it's just business as usual, aint nothing special about Puerto Ricans to us, tranquilo guey

Sounds more like that's "your" opinion. But I'll take the opinion of my close Mexican friends over yours. :lol1:
They were literally at work streaming the soccer match on their phones in 240p and getting all squirmy every time the ball came close to their net. But hey, they don't care doe right? :lol1:
LOL No duh, thats the passion of watching futbol, any team we play against thats how we are fool... but when your talking about the US/Mexico "rivalry" we don't even consider the US rivals, more like Argentina can be considered a credible rival but the US is a joke you got freakin high school teams beating their national league clubs :lol1:
We can't seem to win anymore?? We just won the Gold Cup tournament beating Jamaica like 3-1 who demolished the US LOL, then we beat the US in some senseless "concacaf" cup and not just beat them but embarrass them :lol1:
Mexicans don't really take the US seriously as a rival in soccer, and we don't really take the Puerto Ricans seriously as a rival in boxing either, in each one of the sports the supposed "rivals" opposed to Mex are the ones who take them more seriously, again,
Sit down :bottle:

el cucuy verdejo ya viene
Verdejo is a great fighter.
The only guy I ever see headlining fights here in SD is Emmanuel Renegade Robles.
