I really dont see how Povetkin has more of a punchers chance against Wilder. I will give Povetkin credit and say he may last 12 because hes a tough guy but I dont see how Povetkin has a chance. Once Wilder gets his range and timing on point, itll be target practice. So with that said, do people really think Povetkin has a good chance or are they passing around the hatorade?

Are you saying that Fury is the most skilled heavyweight in the world right now? That is some next-level BS right there.
He absolutely is, and it's not really close, second would be Ortiz. I've been boxing for a long time, what Fury does well jumps out and smacks you in the face if you know what you are watching.
Fair enough, lol.
I disagree about Wilder beating Fury, I just don't see it. Talent wise, Fury then Ortiz are the 1-2 right now for me. Wilder is a fun fighter to watch but I see him paying for all his flaws when he steps up.

Your acting as if Wilder is knocking out legit contenders he's fighting nobodies
I can see your point man but lets be real here, the HW division was "full of bums" until Fury beat Klitchko but now that Klitchkos been dethroned all of a sudden Povetkin has a spectacular record and the HW division is stacked? And Wilders the only one thats still fighting bums? C'mon man, its still the same ole HW division and theyre all not fighting the best opposition... The irony of NSB can be amazing...

Proud hater i am!
Let your champ face Ortiz and let's see what happens.
He won't make it to round 4
That old man is trying to win one of the meaningless WBA belts.
Hatter Spotted.
f 'ing Firtha took Povetkin 10 rounds but Wilder KO him in four rounds! OMG.

With the way Povetkin has been dismantling guys.. he DEFINITELY has a shot. He's been KOing guys in fashion, not just bums either.
Look at the highlights from Charr, Takam, and Perez.. he brutalizes them!! Haven't seen the Wach fight yet
Most of it is just Wilder and Haymon hate. Those are the people who will disappear as soon as the fight is over and Wilder KOs him.
Then there's some people who sincerely think Povetkin will win. Povetkin will in all likelihood be the underdog and will be fighting outside Europe for the first time ever. So interesting to see if those people put their money where their mouth is..
If Wilder is favourite with the bookies I will definitely be putting some money on Povetkin. Wilder's height and reach give him a reasonable chance of winning, by KO if he gets Povetkin on the end of one of his big right hands, on points if he can keep working his jab and moving quickly enough to prevent Povetkin getting inside on him. But, overall, I think Povetkin's chances are better.
Povetkin is a little slow footed, which is why Deontay has a chance of beating him. But Sasha has skill, good balance, and crushing power himself. Wilder's KO of Szpilka was impressive, but Szpilka is known to be a little chiny. In recent fights, Povetkin clean KO'd 2 men, Takam and Perez, who had never been down in their careers before.
If Wilder can't keep him at bay, or if he stands still and trades, I think Povetkin will nail Deontay and knock him spark out.
if povetkin is worse tan wilder then it should be illegal for him to step into a ring.
f 'ing spilka took him to the 9th round, wilder my arse

Wilder definitely has the power and although very awkward, has some decent boxing skill. Povetkin also has a big punch and some decent boxing skills.
I see Wilder as having too many defensive flaws to face really big punchers. He was getting hit by flush shots from Szpilka who really isn't a big puncher and he has been wobbled by several other boxers.
Either guy can win the fight but I would have to say that Povetkin can take a big punch better than Wilder can and that makes this a very risky fight for Wilder.
No hate here. I would favor Povetkin. I think both guys have improved but Wilder still has glaring flaws. But even thought it's a cliche, Wilder has that eraser that can make up for his faults. 60/40 fight in favor of Povetkin in my opinion. I actually think Wilder may be a slight favorite in Vegas so I think it would be a nice fight to bet on.
Wilder is currently 2/3 favorite on most sites..
Are you trolling here? Because given your post history you come off as a knowledgable poster, and a knowledgable poster knows that Povetkin is the better fighter on paper, and the more proven fighter, even if he is getting older.
Also, as a fellow veteran assuming you are/were in the USMC, I hope you aren't being like New England here and over hyping Wilder because he is from the USA, because that's one of the worst kinds of fans imo. Nothing wrong with backing your guy if you can be objective about it, but if you are one of those guys who comes to diss Fury because he is not from the USA even though he is an infinitely better fighter, then you are part of the problem more than part of the solution.
I have to ask, because everytime someone posts bomb squad with a flag, they are making it into something it doesn't need to be, and as a fellow American and vet, people like that embarass me and are toxic to the sport.
That said, who hates Wilder and why would he garner hate? He has to succeed at a high level first, and he hasn't really done that yet, there isn't much to hate on him for.
Wilder is an exciting fighter, I like watching him fight, and part of that is because he is so flawed, that his fights become unnecessarily exciting.
Where you entirely lose me though, is when you say something childish like "do people actually think Povetkin has a chance". For one, in boxing, everyone has a chance, it's called a punchers chance. If you laced em up in the Marines you would know that early on. Two, as I said earlier and as is common knowledge, Povetkin is the better fighter on paper and the more proven fighter. Being a Wilder fan, an unbiased fan, shouldn't deter you from acknowledging that.
I am a huge Yaegashi fan, as you can tell by my sig, but I can also tell you all the ways Gonzalez is a better fighter.
I am a huge Verdejo fan, but he is an unproven prospect.
I love Floyd to death, my favorite fighter since DLH, but you will never see me or hear me put him in the top 10 all time.
It's called being objective, fair, sensical, and a true fan of the sport. So for the sake of the reputation of all "boxing fans" in the USMC, I hope you can admit to trolling, or we will know I was wrong about you from the get go, and we can treat your point of views as the skewed ridiculous prespectives they seem to be.
honestly man, I am trolling a bit with the whole #bombzquad (because Im not on twitter) but I dont think theres room in the HW division for someone 6'2". In this day and age the HW's are huge and I dont see Povetkin with the type of ability needed to beat guys as big as Fury and Wilder. I honestly think itd take someone really special under 6'5" beating either guy. Now I do back Wilder because he is American (im not going to lie) but honestly I cant see anyone beating Fury but Wilder and vice versa. I just firmly believe a good big man always beats a good small man.

Also, I favor Povetkin over Wilder based on their most recent fights.
Also whichever poster said Fury has no movement is an idiot who has never watched Fury. He's horribly elusive these days and only tends to get caught when he's screwing around, a trait that he has stopped since the megabucks fights have come his way.
Wilder could be great but he's way too raw to actually beat a quality heavyweight. He might catch Povetkin with a lucky swing but that's his only chance and Povetkin is light years better than anyone Wilder has faced.
Wow.
This is obviously based on Wilder's last fight against a guy nobody has heard of. A guy who is 4 inches shorter in height and 6 inches shorter in reach.
Wow.
Hater Spotted.
Wow! Povetkin shorter than Polak! and he struggle with cruiserweights!
