Fury #1 for sure.
I'm still not sold on Wilder and still think that chin is glass. There's a number of people in the division that would beat him imo Klitschko, Ortiz, Fury, Haye, Joshua amongst others.
Fury #1, Klitschko #2 - Wilder #3 based on merit but he really hasn't fought anyone.
Even Stiverne never really fought any top opponents.
1. Wladimir Klitschko
2. Alexander Povetkin
3. David Haye
4. Luis Ortiz
5. Tyson Fury..
I have Deontay Wilder questionable for top 10
If Wladimir loses to Fury again I drop Wladimir down to 5 but I prop Fury up only to 4 until he himself proves better than the others.
Has to be Fury for now but the division is quite open. Wilder and Fury should be slaughtered any time they face a guy outside of the top 5 for as long as they hold the belts. Fortunately I think both of them want to face challenges, but whether or not Al will put Deontay through the fire is uncertain. He's long overdue a big test. Hopefully we'll see it with Povetkin.
this.
fury is without a doubt the champion of the division. you can't get a more lineal champ than a guy who beat a hall of famer at the end of a lineal run. i think wilder should be favored against more guys because of his athleticism and punching power. i think he beats fury. povetkin might beat him, doe.
ortiz is a threat to knock any of these guys out.
joshua can fight
the division is heating up. i really think that. the biggest fights in the next few years will involved the big 4 in the weight classes and the HW division.
maybe a guy proves himself to be the top dog at WW out of brook, crawford, bradley, porter, thurman, and becomes a draw.
I agree, King Kong and Joshua both nice fighters, HW is pure heat in 2 years.
I have to go with Tyson Fury at this point. Wladimir was on top of the division for a decade and beating him, coupled with a few good wins on his resume, makes him the man at this point IMO. If he'd just been a bum who got lucky, then no. But as of right now, he's number one.
If Wilder defeats Szpilka, Fury will still be the man. If Wladimir wins the rematch, then he's back at number one. If Tyson Fury takes him again, he's still on top. It's going to come down to Fury either falling off or Wilder getting a fight with him or Klitschko in order for one of the two to be knocked off. Ortiz did great against Jennings, but he has to do more than that to be number one. Wladimir held the spot for so long that it's not that easy to step in and take it away. And Joshua just doesn't have the experience or accomplishments yet.
Preciesly. It's a no brainer. The only way Wilder gets the number one spot is if he beats either Fury or Wlad (whoever wins the rematch), or they fall off the radar for whatever reason. He's not going to get any higher than number two beating an endless succession of low to mid-level guys, no matter how impressively. Wlad had such a stranglehold on the division that by beating him Fury instantly achieves that exalted position.
Wilder could theoretically surpass Fury if he knocks out both Povetkin and Ortiz and Fury doesn't get a good win in that time, but the chances of that happening are, let's face it, very slim.
I believe Deontay Wilder is.
But Fury should be ranked higher based off performances.

Fury beat Wlad and won 3 belts(one stripped) and yet dudes are voting Wilder? :lol1:
It's hilarious, and pathetic at the same time.
I red K'd the TS for asking a stupid question with an obvious answer with the intent to bait.
This is an incredibly easy question to answer, yet people are still making a botch of it.
Before November 28th the consensus number one would have been Wladimir Klitschko. So it stands to reason that the man who beat him would instantly take over that mantle. Yet somehow Wilder, a vastly less proven fighter without a single win in the stratosphere as Wlad, still gets fifty percent of the votes. Did people learn nothing from Adrien Broner? I mean seriously.
fury is undoubtedly the man until he loses, unless he sits on it for ages while avoiding contenders like e.g. stevenson did at LHW (but i don't think that's his style)
