where the sympathy for Richard Colon ..i remember magoom when threw the same thing and there wear theads for months and donations link....Even HBO did a donation for him......But the Young Puerto Rican kid who managed by Al haymon get no love sympathy or talked on about on boxingscenen? Why is that?
Is because he a haymon fighter? Or what?
see prichard colon sad story but its over with in terms of any big news update for him. Hes gonna stay in that state for the rest of his life sad but true so thats why no one talks about it no more cause their is nothing to update on, trust me even the fb group will die off eventually and the hashtags will stop aswell.
This. No one is talking about it because there is no news to discuss.
The ref should be held accountable for his role in Prichard's tragic condition or these types of life threatening injuries will persist throughout professional boxing. He allowed Colon's opponent, Terrel Williams to repeatedly hit Prichard in the back of the head the entire fight until it was so blatantly obvious and continuous that even the ref, Joseph Cooper, who was either bought off or completely incompetent, deemed it suitable to take away a point. This did absolutely nothing to change the horrifying outcome as the damage was done and Williams was able to continue throwing and landing disgusting rabbit punches until he landed the final, devasting blow that felled Prichard, was incorrectly ruled a legal knockdown and arguably did the lethal damage that led to his current condition.
In my honest opinion, that ref, Joseph Cooper, should not only have been banned from ever refereeing a fight again but should also be charged with at least accessory to manslaughter because his lack of control of the fight, inability or unwillingness to prevent foul blows and disregard for the risk involved with a fighter taking repeated punches to the back of the head was a direct cause of Prichard Colon's current state.
What an absolute travesty and yet another unnecessary black mark on the legitimacy of pro boxing.
We were talking about him for awhile, maybe you missed it. We got a couple of updates, but as of recent there's been no news. Don't think we weren't here sympathizing for the guy because he's managed by Al Haymon.
Take your accusations somewhere else, we all get the sport is rough.
I can barely find updates on him but that is typical boxing which is why I'm always on the boxers side when it comes to negotiations and guys wanting to make the most money they can especially for big fights. You just never know when a fight can be your last fight.
Fans, Promoters, some Managers, they really don't give a damn about the fighters.
