Simply put, Macklin, LeMew, Geale, and Monroe are not the type of wins that make up a HOF acceptable resume. Amateur accolades out of this world? he destroyed peterson, who gave garcia problems and had beaten khan years ago. matthysse had absolutely earned his #1 contender status to garcia's lineage at 140 lbs. calling him a hype job is just riciuldous. you can say he was overrated, which is fine. you can't call a guy a hype job when his resume and abilities rightfully get him ranked as the top contender to a lineal title. that's silly. matthysse had a good career. he had good wins. i thought the judah fgiht was close, and i don't have issues with giving it to judah. the alexander fight wasn't close, and alexander himself beat maidana after losing to matthysse. maidana was another limited fighter, but he beat broner, and gave floyd mayweather one of the tougest fights of his career. matthysse wasn't an awful fighte,r or a hypejob. he was just a limited fighter who had trouble dealing with accurate punchers who could use the ring and make him move his feet.
