By age 34, Hagler had already cemented his credentials as a HOF fighter.
Maybe he is talking the amount of fights and not age....Hagler didnt get a title shot til he had like 50 fights.....GGG was given a world title....didnt even have to fight for it........ Hagler was robbed of in his first try, and when he won it he got bottles and debris hurled at him.
Apples and oranges to me, but you are right...didnt Hagler retire by the time he was GGG's age
Neither was Halger at this stage of his career... Golovkin still has a bright future in the sport... If he continues to fight 3-5 times a year or 2-3 if he begins to fight elite/high quality opposition!

Simply put, Macklin, LeMew, Geale, and Monroe are not the type of wins that make up a HOF acceptable resume.
Amateur accolades out of this world? That medal was SILVER
I dropped my mouse when I red out of his world....I wonder what he thinks of WARD who hasnt lost an amatuer or pro fight since he started puberty
Matthysse quitting against a feather fisted Postal and Maidana retiring after losing to Floyd back to back. Must hurt. But luckily there are other good Argentine fighters on the scene like....uhhh....err nvm.
lucas will come back and who hasn't lost to floyd? chino did what he could within his limitations, more than many others. he bumped broner too, and argentina will be fine. google brian castaño. nice to have you back inkanyamba
so, you couldn't come with an insult of your own that you have to repeat what i just typed? lol and why are you answering for larry anyways? does he bangs you? are are you an alt? inkanyamba :lol1:

You guys make me laugh.
JrMW beats old, crippled MW who immediately retires->becomes Lineal MW champ->agrees to fight Canelo @ 155->doesn't pay sanctioning fee->gets stripped before the fight->Canelo squeezes into 155, outweighs Cotto by ~15 lbs on fight night->beats Cotto in a semi close fight that gets ridiculous scores (because thats how all Canelo fights go)->becomes lineal MW champ->says he's not really a MW->wants to fight at 155 next year
Vs.
calls out MW champ Sturm->gets ducked->calls out MW champ Martinez->gets ducked->says he'll drain to 154 for Floyd->nothx->says he'll go up in weight to 168 for Froch/Ward/Chavez->retires/next year plz/got tacos?->calls out MW champ Quillin->bambi legs says give me 5-10 mill->calls out Lineal MW champ Cotto->ducked for 9 mths->calls out lineal MW champ Canelo->asked to be drained to 155->calls out MW champ BJ saunders->BJ asks for 8 times his highest payday (500k for Lee, asks for 4m)
.. and which of these drama shows is the MW champ again?
Fact is GGG is Champion
Canelo is a challenger to the throne.
Do you think Canelo is ready for GGG right now?
As usual, you have your facts mixed up.
BTW, I'm still looking for that list of fighters with 400+ amateur fights that had been boxing since before 10 yrs old that were fighting at a world class level in their 40s.
Nacho Beristain says GGG would destroy Canelo's career, possibly retire him because GGG is just overall better. Canelo is good, but GGG = elite.
Let them stupid internet keyboard warriors think differently and just laugh about their ignorance.
Don't you have to beat at least one A list opponent to be considered elite?
if arturo gatti is in it then golovkin would be too if he retired right now. wins over macklin, monroe, lemieux, geale and others would put him in a position to be a hof'r. plus his amateur accolades are out of this world.
funny how you tried to use his age against him, yet i find it even funnier how relentlessly he's being ducked.
Simply put, Macklin, LeMew, Geale, and Monroe are not the type of wins that make up a HOF acceptable resume.

he destroyed peterson, who gave garcia problems and had beaten khan years ago.
matthysse had absolutely earned his #1 contender status to garcia's lineage at 140 lbs. calling him a hype job is just riciuldous. you can say he was overrated, which is fine. you can't call a guy a hype job when his resume and abilities rightfully get him ranked as the top contender to a lineal title. that's silly.
matthysse had a good career. he had good wins. i thought the judah fgiht was close, and i don't have issues with giving it to judah. the alexander fight wasn't close, and alexander himself beat maidana after losing to matthysse. maidana was another limited fighter, but he beat broner, and gave floyd mayweather one of the tougest fights of his career.
matthysse wasn't an awful fighte,r or a hypejob. he was just a limited fighter who had trouble dealing with accurate punchers who could use the ring and make him move his feet.
Peterson is a good fighter, I rooted for him vs Khan but he should've lost that fight....the ref made some crappy calls
for the level of opponents he beat in his career, in correlation to the hype he had....he was a hype job
If he was the fighter his fans said he was, he should have beat Garcia and Postol....he was never the fighter they wanted him to be.....Come on man, dude clearly lost to a past prime Zab Judah...that fight right their showed his limitations as did others
In reality Matthyssee was a contender.....A good one......on NSB and to casuals he was a machine, a monster, a beast, a champion without actually beat the champion...the same way GGG is now without having defeated top fighters on a regular basis like Garcia who gets crapped on but had/has not near the hype but a far better resume
Punchers always get overrated.....regardless of who they fight
In Donaire's defense he is a future hall of famer and earned his reputation with great results and was fighting former and current titlists back to back across 5 divisions
Matthyssee had the same hype GGG does now....you think they'd learn to stop anointing fighters and let them earn their place among the best
GGG hasn't proved enough yet, just like the Machine's hype was premature...he didn't beat a top level guy, nor has GGG yet

I look forward to the fight when it happens, the winner gets all the credit in the world....
.p4p placement(by earning it, not oh he ducking or he scared, or he would beat him, I think he is better...blah blah)
We'll have a universally recognized champion in one of the glamour divisions
If Canelo isn't ready by now he never will be....he is 25 approaching 50 pro fights....he has more experience than pros older than him
I love unification fights......more fights being made and less trivial message board jargon
Rigo is going to get killed by Nonito
Garcia is a dead man walking Matthysse will decapitate him
