Khan needs to get rid of hunter for the new year , rewatched khan algeiri and he clearly regressed and didn't look comfortable fighting his new style at 140 algeiri it would have been an easy night.
Hunter is a far superior trainer than Roach for someone who's defensively wreckless as Khan. Khan is no longer young enough or dedicated enough to take on board Virgils' teachings. Hunter has pleaded with Khan to dedicate himself and he hasn't obliged. The fault lies with Khan.
I can't blame him, though, he's amassed a great amount of wealth over his career, has various streams of revenue outside of boxing and so there's no real reason for him to continue to box or be dedicated.
As for Algieri, Khan just wasn't focused on him. That's all there is to it.
Khan blamed Roach for his loses to Peterson and Garcia.
If he'd had stuck with Roach in the first place he may have been able to rebuild his career post Garcia.
Instead his ego got the better of him and he dropped Roach for Hunter.
I think the problem was twofold...the change of trainer AND the step up to 147.
Khan (as usual) believed his own hype and got exposed.
i agree
moving up played a part alright i agree with you
Khan still looked good under roach and won most of his rounds under him, he is always going to be vunerable defensively but hunter is taking things out of khans game rather than adding. Algeiri should have been an easy nights work and khan looked his worst ever

Blame everyone, but the fighter. Khan knows what it is. It's on him to keep his hands up in the middle of his 8 punch combinations.
And I would be extremely surprised if Roach took him back. Khan complained a ton about him saying he never had enough time for him(Which everyone knows Roach trains a ton of fighters), and having to travel to the Philippines to get time with him(As if Roach would drop Pacquiao for his bum ass). IIRC subtly complained about his failing health as well being a factor in him losing.
So the general consensus was Khan was too reckless and weak defensively.
So he drops Roach and hires the Zen master of defensive whispering Hunter.
Now, Khan is too defensive all of a sudden?
Could it actually be that Khan is actually not as good a fighter as he keeps telling everyone?
Boxers who constantly change trainers when their results start to slip are usually just trying to cover the fact they are limited or have real flaws.
Khan is limited at 147 and above.

he did say some things to piss roach off but im sure roach would take him back in a heartbeat if khan apologised and that's what he needs to do , he's fighting totally the wrong style with hunter
Not sure if that would ever happen, but I wouldn't be surprised if Roach just turned Khan down and told him to f*ck off.
Khan pretty much blamed Roach and his parkinson's disease for losing.
