Should boxing fans boycott Pac vs Bradley 3, a rubbermatch nobody wants to see which allegedly serves as Pacquiao's final fight?
The first two fights were perhaps two of Pacquiao's least entertaining fights of his career, virtual snoozefests, where the overwhelming majority of people thought that he beat Bradley with relative ease.
Most may even agree that a 5th fight with Marquez is a far more mouth-watering prospect than a 3rd fight with Bradley? Roach has also admitted on video that Bradley and Crawford are far easier opponents than Khan. But either a Khan, Marquez 5 or even a Crawford fight would be more warmly-received than a 3rd Bradley fight?
As Arum continues his promotional strategy with this 3rd fight, his best interests would be served if Bradley wins and becomes the "successor" to Manny within the Top Rank stable. Many believe that this is what happened the first time they met, with the scorecards being premeditated so as to ensure Bradley would be victorious. As we know, various forms of corruption can surface at any time throughout boxing and all other sports.
Going by historical facts, it's almost a certainty that Bradley will be mollycoddled with victory on the scorecards once again, regardless of his performance, unless Pacquiao manages to KO him. It would serve Arum's best interest very well indeed, and we've already seen that scenario happen the first time around, Bradley loses the fight clearly but wins on the scorecards, sets up the rematch for Pacquiao to win, which sets up the trilogy. "Set up" being the operative term. Time to boycott before we get duped all over again?
Like with all PPV's, impulse buys will make it worth it for them.
everyone cries boycott until fight night and all you can think about is boxing.
we are all boxing fans here thats why we are always lurking in this forum.
I don't get some of the comments, people in here complain about Arum having his fighters fight each other , but also complain about the PBC not having its fighters fight each other
Are we really talking about boycotting a fight between 2 great fighters with great resumes??? We do understand that boxing is the theater of the unexpected, right??? We do know that Manny Pacquiao is now 37 years old and has nothing left to prove, so there's a huge possibility he will be unmotivated in this fight, right??? We do know that Manny has been inactive and coming off of an injury, right??? And like it or not, we do know that Timothy Bradley is one of the best fighters of his generation who is always motivated and in superior shape, right??? If YOU don't know these things, then yes, go ahead an boycott it. If you do know these things, then you know the writing is on the wall for Bradley to win this fight under the guidance of Teddy Atlas, who is a highly intelligent, experienced, and motivational trainer. Boycott it if you want, but come April 10th, you will see the headline go across your screen that Bradley defeats Pacquiao to retain the WBO Welterweight Championship. Any true athlete who has competed knows that it is extremely difficult to beat any opponent 3 times straight. And anyone with boxing knowledge knows that the 1st 2 fights were far from a walk in the park for Manny. The media and HBO has led many astray. You may not like Arum, and you may not like this fight, but that will not change the fact that a past his prime legend is entering the ring with a great, hungry, motivated, and rejuvenated champion in his prime. Manny never dominated Bradley in the 1st 2 fights and he will do even less in this fight. But to boycott a fight with 2 of the best fighters in the sport tells me that we are dealing with some who are not true boxing fans.
I'm buying it
Not as excited about this fight as their previous 2 and think Broner, Crawford or Khan would have been better picks for Pac . but it's reallymthe only logical choice , you know Arums going to go in house with this because he'll make more $ off 2 fighters he controls then only 1 so Broner & Khan aren't happening. Bradley / Pac probably sells more then Crawford/ Pac. So Bradley is TR logical choice add to it Bradley's beat the rest of TR WW stable and their isn't any other names for Pac from Tr
I don't really get the all out hate for this fight. 2 future HOF'ers who have history ,Both Currently 2 of the top 5 WW in a stacked division, it's for the HBO belt and there is no one left on TR / HBOs side in the WW division with any PPV / Big Fight experience beside Bradley. I think Arum was positioning Vargas to fight Pac but Tim beat his as.s for 11 1/2 rds and killed that.
I can't think of a May or Pac PPV in the last 4 years that someone here didn't make a boycott thread about, possible exception being May/Alvarez.
lol true everytime i say this is the one i wont buy and i always buy it cause i work sat night. half people who say they will boycot it tho stream every ppv anyway hahahaha
