Not surprised at all. What else is he going to do?
Lol this.
Boxing is the only thing Ike knows and is good at.
Let him have his comeback, who knows, maybe he could pull off a Foreman?
Interested :boxing:
Crazy news. I've been on Boxingscene for 11 years and every so often someone would make a thread about Ike making a comeback, but it was hypothetical and no one took it seriously.
That said, count me in, I'm interested
I'd like to at least see him fight some bums to see how he is. Vitali Klitschko was 41 years old in his last fight defeating Manuel Charr and he looked as good as ever.
But having said that if Ibeabuchi looks way over the hill, i'd like to see him retire promptly. But if he is half decent, why not let the man make a couple of bucks fighting? He might be good enough to get near the top level.
Situations like this rarely lead a fighter to becoming a legit contender at his age. On the flip side, he has not been fighting all this time so this could buy him a little more time at his age, but his best bet is to go on a liquid diet of opponents, the kinds that Shannon Briggs seems to dig up out of nowhere. If he is really serious and gets in top shape, he could get to the point of being a ranked contender, though it is doubtful but he would, and if he did, would get knocked off by some contender. I doubt he could beat a contender. Ike from long ago could wreck havoc today but that was then and this is now and time does not stand still for the human body.
Great observation, and hopefully, he makes some money to stay away from trouble.
One poster mentioned Nigeria. Was he deported? I thought he was still in the US. The article just stated he was released from the immigration detention in November this year.

Wilder will probably give him a pay day
He is too old at 43 but these days lots of very old guys are still fighting. It will be interesting to see what he has left. He would be a hell of a lot tougher than anyone Briggs has fought in years. In fact he is way too tough to qualify as a Briggs opponent.

They're never going to let him back into the US to fight. No decent country will let him in tbh. Unless you plan on streaming this on Nigerian TV I wouldn't get too excited.
One of my all time favorites. He was a very good boxer, explosive, with the chin to go with it. He had the potential to be a great heavyweight.
He can try, although at this point he might just be looking for a quick buck to resettle into the real world.
Good luck, Champ!
