Why do people bash GGG on his resume?

GGG resume consists of beating up on the same people that Martinez was praised for beating in close fights, except in demolishing fashion. Its like Roy Jones said, "And they got the nerve to say I ain't fight nobody I just make'em look like nobody" GGG resume is actually quite good. And he constantly fights the best opposition available to him, and destroys them.

I think the Cotto - Canelo fight did phenomenal with the buys. but are we really saying that Canelo will be doing those numbers from here on out? Both Cotto and Canelo fought on regular HBO Boxing before they fought each other, and this fight was why they made the PPV huge. any other fight with Canelo probably won't get half of 900k and will be on HBO Boxing

They let his fight vs the number four ranked contender(Rhodes, a joke all by itself) count as a mandatory defense. When was the last time any of the alphabet scumbags did this. 3. They then let Canelo defend the 154lb title vs not one but two second rate 140lbers Tell me again how the WBC will strip Canelo.

I think if HBO and K2 pushed the opponents to fight then it would be different. If I were HBO, I would tell Canelo that he's not getting a PPV event next unless he fights GGG next. They gotta push this ****. GGG could go to PBC for a onetime deal and bust up Jacobs for fun. And why would HBO do that. Canelo does numbers g string can only dream about. The longer Canelo keeps winning the more revenue for HBO.

You're naming GGG...considering we're talking about who GGG should have fought, should he have fought his reflection or have you perfected the art of cloning? And how have you ranked Sturm above Macklin at the time GGG fought him? When Macklin, in the eyes of most, had beaten him in germany and been robbed? Murray would go on to do the same. I'd agree that Martinez was better but Martinez was recovering from injuries post Chavez and would have only 2 fights in 2 years, going 1-1 and being injured yet again. So in essence, you have only named two guys better than Macklin in 2013 and that's Quillin (debatable and never wanted the GGG fight) and Martinez (THE champ but at the end of his career and severely injured in 3 fights). I could do the same for all your other crap but a) I can't be bothered and b) I don't care deeply enough to do it lol I'm not the biggest GGG fan out there, I've said at times his opposition has been weak but he has really picked it up in recent times and is, in terms of skill and power and potential h2h, one of the top 10 fighters on the planet. You will have to learn to deal with it brother.

To put simply...expectations and hype have moved a little too far past results and accomplishments for peoples taste. That is the general cause in most cases. This is often not the fault of the fighter, it just is. In GGG's case he is being touted as a potentially great fighter, and a pound for pound king, but he has not yet got any marquee wins for whatever reason. Normally everyone gets caught up in arguing over the reasons it hasn't happened rather than actually focusing on whether they think he will fulfil those expectations in the future. You know an actual boxing debate? Good post. I don't really concern myself with why these fights haven't happened. As you said, it's rarely the fault of the fighter. GGG will get his shot at an elite opponent, probably Canelo in late 2016-17. We'll see what he can do then. I'd favor him to win and if he does, that's an elite fighter on his record to go along with his steady KO's of any challenger in his division. And that would make him possibly the world's best. Until then, I'm kinda indifferent toward his career this far.
