I mean he has got an ok resume but how is this his fault when the supposedly good names he should be having on his resume have ducked him throughout?
He wanted to fight Strum, he called out Martinez, he called out Cotto and he called out Canelo, now if they are not willing to fight him whos left for him to make a GREAT resume. People just don't understand this **** and bring on their stupid hatred for golovkin out of no where.
They say hes 33 and still has got no resume, tell me one thing, do you think GGG would have denied a title fight when he was say in his early twenties? Doesnt every fighter wants to have bigger name as soon as possible. He can't have good names unless its dealt from both sides. First he got a late entry to USA like many other fighters from his ethnic background, he was also let down by his first promotional agency that didnt care for his career and never managed to get him against someone good despite him wanting everyone.
Finally he got to be recognized a bit more and on a steady career, its a shame his haters can't accept their idols don't want him since like a decade of boxing.
GGG resume consists of beating up on the same people that Martinez was praised for beating in close fights, except in demolishing fashion.
Its like Roy Jones said, "And they got the nerve to say I ain't fight nobody
I just make'em look like nobody"
GGG resume is actually quite good. And he constantly fights the best opposition available to him, and destroys them.
I think the Cotto - Canelo fight did phenomenal with the buys. but are we really saying that Canelo will be doing those numbers from here on out? Both Cotto and Canelo fought on regular HBO Boxing before they fought each other, and this fight was why they made the PPV huge. any other fight with Canelo probably won't get half of 900k and will be on HBO Boxing
uhmmmm, NO he couldnt. He could have forced him to vacate the title (which he will possibly have to do in May anyways), but he cannot force Canelo to FIGHT.
So you actually believe the vile scumbags at the WBC will strip Canelo if he doesn't fight g string? Let's review.
1. The vile scumbags at the WBC let Canelo fight a third rate 147lber for their vacant 154lb title(M Hatton)
2. They let his fight vs the number four ranked contender(Rhodes, a joke all by itself) count as a mandatory defense. When was the last time any of the alphabet scumbags did this.
3. They then let Canelo defend the 154lb title vs not one but two second rate 140lbers
Tell me again how the WBC will strip Canelo.
I think if HBO and K2 pushed the opponents to fight then it would be different. If I were HBO, I would tell Canelo that he's not getting a PPV event next unless he fights GGG next. They gotta push this ****. GGG could go to PBC for a onetime deal and bust up Jacobs for fun.
And why would HBO do that. Canelo does numbers g string can only dream about. The longer Canelo keeps winning the more revenue for HBO.
Martinez
Golovkin
Quillin
Sturm
Cotto
Golovkin
Quillin
Martinez
Cotto
Golovkin

wtf are you on about? Have you lost your mind? You're naming GGG...considering we're talking about who GGG should have fought, should he have fought his reflection or have you perfected the art of cloning?
And how have you ranked Sturm above Macklin at the time GGG fought him? When Macklin, in the eyes of most, had beaten him in germany and been robbed? Murray would go on to do the same.
I'd agree that Martinez was better but Martinez was recovering from injuries post Chavez and would have only 2 fights in 2 years, going 1-1 and being injured yet again.
So in essence, you have only named two guys better than Macklin in 2013 and that's Quillin (debatable and never wanted the GGG fight) and Martinez (THE champ but at the end of his career and severely injured in 3 fights).
I could do the same for all your other crap but a) I can't be bothered and b) I don't care deeply enough to do it lol
I'm not the biggest GGG fan out there, I've said at times his opposition has been weak but he has really picked it up in recent times and is, in terms of skill and power and potential h2h, one of the top 10 fighters on the planet.
You will have to learn to deal with it brother.
lmao love reading the hate from casual fans. "GGG is garbage" yet professional boxing analysts and commentators all agree he's the best in the MW division. But you can continue on hating on him because your fraud Andre "the injured" ward refuses to fight anyone but SMW dragged up to 175.
To put simply...expectations and hype have moved a little too far past results and accomplishments for peoples taste. That is the general cause in most cases.
This is often not the fault of the fighter, it just is. In GGG's case he is being touted as a potentially great fighter, and a pound for pound king, but he has not yet got any marquee wins for whatever reason. Normally everyone gets caught up in arguing over the reasons it hasn't happened rather than actually focusing on whether they think he will fulfil those expectations in the future. You know an actual boxing debate?
Good post. I don't really concern myself with why these fights haven't happened. As you said, it's rarely the fault of the fighter.
GGG will get his shot at an elite opponent, probably Canelo in late 2016-17. We'll see what he can do then. I'd favor him to win and if he does, that's an elite fighter on his record to go along with his steady KO's of any challenger in his division. And that would make him possibly the world's best. Until then, I'm kinda indifferent toward his career this far.
so cotto would have fought golovkin if golovkin didn't take step aside money? that's what you're implying?
I believe he woulda fought ggg after the canelo fight yes.
uhmmmm, NO he couldnt. He could have forced him to vacate the title (which he will possibly have to do in May anyways), but he cannot force Canelo to FIGHT.
I thought ggg was after the belts? you know... unification etc
so he couldn't force canelo to fight either?
oh thats right he ACCEPTED a step aside fee (of course im talking about those that he did accept... not sturm) he also wasn't martinez's mando either.

dude, they can't do that. what do you not understand?
you literally told me you understood it, in the first part of the post :lol1:
i can't waste my time trying to explain stuff to you guys several times over, man. i don't mind at all trying to help, but you need to recognize that gennady golovkin couldn't force miguel cotto or the WBC to do anything. they wanted the fight. they couldn't get it!. they couldn't "force it!" they have been trying to force alphabets to give them shots since the sturm days.
again, you're screwing up the causality. miguel cotto caused this by refusing to fight golovkin as a mandatory. several fighters have had well documented instances where they did the same thing. golovkin cannot force miguel cotto to fight. couldn't force sergio martinez. couldn't force sturm. do you get it now?

I understand that..... but this is what I mean and you know it:
team ggg can say all they want to say.....
all this time they were fooling their fans saying that all they want are all the belts blah blah blah..... yet he's taking another step aside fee.... and I don't wanna hear this crap about "well he wont get the fight"... FORCE THE STRIPPAGE like they've been sayin all this time. "Fight GGG next or be stripped of the title".
dude, they can't do that. what do you not understand?

:biggthump:biggthump:biggthump
Exactly,
Either Cotto-Canelo did 600k and GGG did 97k
OR
Cotto-Canelo did 900k and GGG dd 150k
pick one u dumbfucks
hahahahaha this right here.... :crying: lil'g did more thank 97k but cotto-canelo only did 600k waaaaahhhhhhhhhh
he tried to get miguel to fight him dude :lol1:
you'd take step aside money if they guy wasn't going to fight you anyway. that is exactly what happened.
they want to avoid miguel cotto and stay out of a higher tax bracket for a six figure step aside fee :lol1:
you guys can't possibly believe this stuff. cotto was the F#cking champion of the division, FFS. fighting him is what they'd have preferred to do. just trust if you don't understand it. it's clear that you do not.
I understand that..... but this is what I mean and you know it:
Yes. Instead of trying to force a fight he agrees not to fight.

His resume is fine, it's his fans that drive everyone ****ing nuts. ANy fighter that has nuthugger fans like he does is going to experience some backlash, especially when he hasnt fought any top tier guys.
His resume is good. And hes a great fighter from what we've seen. But the fans wont leave it at that and drive everyone nuts. I'm a big GGG fan myself, but his fans are going around saying hilarious stuff like he would beat Andre Ward for christssake.
Nonsense. Blaming fans is like being thin-skinned who can't deal with opposing views. Stay out of the kitchen, bro. It's too hot.
So basically you're saying it's a mismatch. Ward wins the fight, end of story to you. So why do these GG-hating clowns want a mismatch?
FYI, most of us here are not even 3G fans. (I rooted for Lemieux.) I see it the way normal people do. You don't blame the guy who is being ducked. You blame the duck.

so then what, people are not allowed to disagree with you about the outcome of a hypothetical fight? Nobody is ever allowed to have a different opinion?
You must be a real fun person to be around..........

I'm a bit lost? You've highlighted 97k on PPV? GGG sold 97k what point you trying to make...
That number is from Glaser, who claimed Canelo Cotto did 600k so is lacking in credibility
