Who is the better ringside announcer; HBO's J. Lampley or SHO's A. Bernstein?

Bernstein acts like a professional, objective journalist. Lampley has become so biased that it's unbearable.

Not a good comparison because Bernstein is a color commentator, he's not play-by-play A better comparison Lampley vs. Mauro Ranallo. Or Bernstein vs. Kellerman

For boxing knowledge and analysis, Al but its hard to beat Lampley as a boxing commentator when it comes to hyping up the play by play ..... Maybe a good way to put it is, in an action packed fight, I would want Lampley, in a slower paced fight where we want commentary or actual boxing analysis, Al ..... I always find that there is something missing in the actual play by play on Showtime though I like Al and Paulie. I do not find that to be the case with HBO (still good) even now without Larry Merchant(my wife hated him for some reason ...lol). The guys that replaced him are doing a decent job.

Love Bernie. His commentary with Hagler-Hearns has become part of that fight for me.

agreed they chastised the fighters instead of hype them, well they hyped who they liked. UFC can feature guys with records of like 15-7 and they will speak on their strengths and not call them bums or trash them. Personally they'd be better of with Roy Jones, Lennox Lewis and Max Kellerman Lamply is the worst but he was biased in the Floyd vs Pac fight too, sucking off Floyd and saying shots landed that didn't.

All Bernstein and the whole showtime announce crew are better than anything HBO has to offer with the exception of kellerman.. And to the guy that said lampley was biased in the fight with Walters and that kid..what fight were u watching ...I had the fight a clean sweep...10-0...I always love an underdog story but dude got his ass handed to him on the inside with his so called beast power..nothing biased there when Velez landed two clean shots per round with Walters head snapping back only in due part to him mounting that body attack.. walters people picked a pillow puncher who pushed his punches. walters never even hurt him a tiny bit not good news for him when he fights a guy who can punch

Hopkins is good and maybe even better than Roy but Paulie is by far the best expert analyst in the game... got to give it to Paulie....and as a fighter, he made the most out of what he had so he knows a lot about the sport....he was no special talent, did nothing great but he knows his stuff
