With all the turmoil in the heavyweight division currently and the changing of the tide, what does your top 10 in the division look like?
I'd go with:
1. Fury
2. Wlad
3. Povetkin
4. Wilder
5. Pulev
6. Chagaev
7. Ortiz
8. Jennings
9. Glazkov
10. Takam
Chag is reaching the end of the line and isn't very active, so I can understand some placing him lower but Ortiz may be something to get excited about...for now. He is 36 and time will catch up with him very soon.
It's about time these guys started fighting each other, Pulev v Chag, Ortiz b Wilder/Glazkov and so on.
My Heavyweight top ten
Champion: Tyson Fury
#1 Wladimir Klitschko
#2 Alexander Povetkin
#3 Deontay Wilder
#4 Luis Ortiz
#5 Kubrat Pulev
#6 Anthony Joshua
#7 Bryant Jennings
#8 Ruslan Chagaev
#9 Bermane Stiverne
#10 Joseph Parker
Although 29 already and still some way behind both AJ and Parker in terms of development and resume (he's still fighting flat out bums!) I think that Izy Ugonoh looks like a whole lot of fun.

Check out his recent brutal stoppages on youtube, it's like watching Clubber Laing.
lol, I am going to keep an eye out for this guy, sounds exciting in the same way Wilder is (his flaw put him in danger) and I loved to watch Tua, so this might be the next guy to shake things up for the islanders.
I don't think Parker can shake things up beyond prospect or challenger level, honestly, he leaves himself open for the hook EVERY TIME he throws a hook himself. He is a KO waiting to happen but it might be exciting while it lasts.
LOL pretty much, watch Parker when he is in the ascendancy and has an opponent hurt, it's so Wilder-esque

Now I am getting fired up! If I like what I see I am jumping on the Parker hype train! :boxing:
So he's a worse version of Wilder?

Don't watch his last fight. That wasn't Parker at his best. Check out the Costa Junior or Sherman Williams fights. Or better yet, watch a highlight:
So he's a worse version of Wilder?
If anything he's a better version of Wilder. More compact shots, more fluid combinations. Much better at setting up his punches too, or at least he was until recently.
Trouble is, he has the skills and physical ability to be like another Wlad (the pre-Steward version). His handlers aren't doing him justice at the moment.
Yeah. He's Samoan as well (though his build suggests he won't take anywhere near as good a shot).

AJ being ordinary or not, it's two prospects fighting, if it ever happens in the next 12 months or so and AJ is the better prospect. It's really as simple as that.
And watch tapes of Parker, he is wild and messy. He'll get beat up.
So he's a worse version of Wilder?
What has Parker done to make you feel so strongly for him?
His power and unquestionable skill set he has showcased unlike some of these other heavies coming through at the moment. Parker is up there with Usyk as the best prospects coming through right now IMO. Obviously Ortiz looks good too but he's not exactly one for the future with his age.
Yea, I don't know where Parker gets his hype. I have seen his record and he is very green, I haven't actually watched a whole fight of his, maybe he passes the eye test, but I don't really trust scotts eye test after his pre and post Klit/Fury analysis.
For the record, I agree, but not becuase of anything Parker might have/has done, but because I consider AJ a ridiculously hyped individual who I see nothing in and consider very, very ordinary, just like how I feel about guys like Garcia and Canelo.

I will have to check him out, saw he was from New Zealand, isn't that where Tua was from? :D

Parker's worthy of a second look. He's a very impressive prospect and my tip to be the next big thing if he keeps improving and upping his level. He's a much more natural fighter than the hyped Joshua, and has gone the distance several times. His level of opposition has flattened out recently, which is a concern, but he has all the tools to take it to the next level.
He needs to stop sticking his chin in the air though. The last guy he fought nearly made him pay.

Parker would pulverise Joshua. A competitive fight would be Pulev vs Parker for a vacated Fury belt to make it even more fun so we don't have to suffer Fury's negative style.

Well I'm a boxing fan and I don't think he's the top prospect and if you surf the boards here you'll find plenty of other boxing fans that think likewise. I like how you've just tried to speak for the whole boxing fan community, LOL.
I said 'he's not even the best prospect in boxing.' I didn't say he was 'nowhere near' so stop inventing things I've said.
There are a couple of other guys that I think are better prospects but then we have to decide what defines 'prospect.'
When have I conceded that Joshua has fought better comp? Whyte is about the best (marginally) either has faced and that's only coz Whyte is young. I think Parker has fought a better body of opposition but BOTH need to step it up.
I can't remember saying where Joshua has better accuracy than Parker as I don't believe that for one second. Gee the more I re-watch that Whyte fight the more I realize how sloppy and SLOW he is. Rounds 2 & 3 looked like two drunks having a bar room brawl.
But hey feel free to post the quote where I said that.

Fury, Klitschko and Povetkin are the only names that have any sort of pedigree at the moment. Having a top 5, let alone a top 10 current HW list shows how weak the division is right now.
Agreed, with guys like Fury and Wilder populating the five it really is testament to how poor this current wave is and the fact Wlad manage to lose to one too !
