ACTUALLY not really I have a life and all that stuff. However, this fight was actually a really really good fight. One of floyd's most exciting fights of his career. Cotto won rds 6, 8, and 11 (or 10??? Can't remember).
Posters like to mention this fight as the fight that gave Mayweather trouble, it didn't. I believe Mayweather was intending to knock Cotto out and prove something to the boxing world. Cotto showed tremendous heart and grit. This is probably the last fight Floyd actually really sat down on his punches and it showed on cotto's face (and Floyd because he made himself more available). Cotto is a true champ man Shoutouts to him for sitting in there and not getting discouraged. But Floyd chose to fight Cotto didn't make him, anywho. Peace guh! :boxing:
I think that was more due to his hands than jlc. He has brittle hands.
I'm not saying it was because of JLC. I'm saying that's when he said **** this. I'm faster and smarter than the rest of these guys. I will just use those to my advantage and safely decision these guys.
His first 26. As soon as he was gifted a win against JLC then he changed his game plan. He brought it out in Maybe 5 more fights in the rest of his career.

Props to Cotto but how many fights have Floyd fought with genuine bad intentions?

Floyd-Cotto might have been different if Cotto had anything to follow up that beastly jab with.
Cotto gave Floyd a bloody nose. More than just about any of the 47 others can say.

I think he won as many as four of the first eight rounds. But Floyd took over after the 8th. There's possibly an argument for Cotto in the 10th alright because Floyd did almost nothing for the entire round. Great fight. Pedro Diaz gave Cotto a great gameplan but he didn't have the gas to see it home.
