Why should he beat them easily? He's not a good boxer and one of the worst lightweight title holders ever, alongside Darleys Perez.
At least he's working like an animal.
well i'm guessing the reason haymon is matching him so soft is because he knows figuero isn't very good, but still i don't think haymon thought figuero was this bad. It's really hard to keep getting him wins. he's prob gonna have him fight broner soon and cash out, and some low information pbc fans will think its a big win or something.
figuero continues to struggle with guys he should beat easily. belmontes, burns, and dimarco. oh yeah and he's never beaten a top 10 fighter. main event star though!

Ah, so it looks like Figs gassed out and nearly lost huh? I was never impressed with him and thought he was one of these guys that Hymen was hyping up as the next Margarito or something, only he would need to be the benefit of close, contested decision wins to avoid losses and remain marketable.
I've seen him on a steady decline ever since he injured his hands a few fights ago.
Figueroa fights straight up bore me at this point. It's just a really long drunken brawl where neither guy can knock out the other.
Dude just isn't very good.

Omar Figueroa Jr, in all honesty, isn't all that good of a fighter but the fact that he throws so many punches, and he's coming into any fight with arguably the sturdiest chin of any fighter 140 and under makes him a dangerous fight for any fighter's manager to book.
Terrence Crawford, on skills alone, likely smokes Figueroa Jr; I'm just not sure if he'll be able to keep him off enough to comfortably secure 7 out of 12 rounds on two of three scorecards.
that's largely why I wouldn't see Broner giving him a shot.
He needs to but the question is can he.... I can see him missing weight again trying to go down to 140 if he doesn't start working with a nutritionist or something.
Figueroa gives off the impression that he doesn't have the dedication/discipline necessary to go any further. Yes, he leaves it all in the ring and is entertaining, but he hasn't been coming in prepared and he isn't developing his skillset either. He fought two past prime opponents (Burns, DeMarco) and went life and death with them. He's essentially another Chavez Jr.
2nd half of the fight was much better than the 1st especially the last 3rd. Demarco took way too long to put his foot on the gas. He seemed to have the better quality shots but Figueroa just simply outworked him. Figueroa better not fight any higher than 140. That offense is your best defense crap will get him KO'D by a skilled vet with power. He's a brutal KO waiting to happen. Good freakin' fight.
Damn. Great fight. Figueroa's lucky he didn't get KO'd tonight.
He needs to go back down to 140 ASAP.
Of course he's going back down to 140. You actually think he's gonna go up to 147-154? Haymon should make Broner/Figueroa.
Figueroa will get KOd soon, they should keep him fighting cans and feather fisters in texas showcase bouts as long as possible. He has no skills whatsoever.
Solid fight, Figuroa did his thing and Demarco really did also. Demarco kind of slow played it too long he needed to step on the gas just a bit sooner and he could have had it.
So was that more Figueroa being out of shape or Demarco having a good fight late in his career? Either way the Texas decision goes to the Texas fighter.
