If Froch is such a legend why did he never move up in weight? If he's such a warrior why is it that he'll only come out of retirement to fight a smaller guy like Golovkin?
Im not trying to defend Lil G, because I think he should move up to fight Ward or Froch, but I don't understand why this double standard exists for Froch. People say Ward should move up, Lil G should move up, but Froch gets away with staying at the same weight. Kovalev-Froch would be a great fight don't you guys think?
Stop leaving me private messages like a scorned women
as far is i remember i don't sent you private messages. i certainly don't do it frequently. i've sent you karma messages, but those are inherently far apart.
What's a "scored women"? Is that what they call your mum since she's been scored on so many times?
And before you say that mum jokes are lame, why are you leaving me green K with massive essay comments about my mother? :lol1:
"You follow me around NSB doe" :lol1:
I don't follow your fat arse around, it's just a common occurrence.
There could be a thread about Sugar Ray Robinson vs Jake Lamotta and you'd somehow find a way to start writing a thesis about how Ward scored a forgettable decision over Froch.
*scorned. i thought it was a pretty obvious typo, myself.

New England still dining out on that Ward-Froch fight.
Literally a day doesn't pass where he doesn't mention that fight in at least one thread.

Remember when you used to say you liked Froch?
That was weird wasn't it?
i saw froch vs taylor live. best fight i've seen live. i am a fan. i'm also realistic about how he was moved late in his career. it's futile for somebody who isn't me to try and convince me which fighters i like :lol1:
when people bring up ward's involvement with joe goossen after the SS i'm quite realistic as well. ward messed up a good thing, and is in part responsible for his periods of inactivity. goossen got him good money, and secured a fight in oakland twice in the SS, and a final on american soil in a neutral venue. you've also got to account for kelly pavlik losing his mind, and two legitimate injuries one of which required surgery.
fanboy doe.
"but he wanted to prove himself by rematching ward doe. froch is a warrior!"
froch crapped all over teh ward rematch becaues it was a fight he'd only win via horrible robbery. he remembers the humiliation of getting his butt kicked by a left handed fighter with a broken left hand.
he doesn;t want to do this ever again:

he was pretty candid early on about not wanting the fight. i thin kward being so inactive gave him some courage to start talking a bit of crap again, which is his style. ward came back, was ordered as a mandatory for the WBA belt, and froch was all, "f#ck this, i'm retiring!"

Exposed, just like Prescott, Peterson and Garcia did to Khan right?
Yeah Garcia and Prescott did expose khan's weak chin. Peterson was a drug cheat. Froch, lol, Andre Ward beat him at his own game :lol1:
:lol1:
Froch was completely exposed that night. Ward was toying with him and everything Ward did turned to gold. Froch was getting beat up on the inside, outboxed from a distance and was getting roughed up and pushed around after saying that ward was soft and weak at the press conferance :lol1:

I agree hugely with this.That nose though.....nosefornosenumber1
The thing that pissed me off about him was him talking **** about ward after getting his ass kicked and turning down a rematch calling him boring and not a risk taker etc.
He was trying to make it out like he was greater then him because he was more popular and made more money :lol1:
I remeber him then taking shots at a retired Calazage and ward and Joe then turned around and were questioning Froch's mental wellbeing :lol1:

froch's warrior mentality is ridiculously overrated. the guy was in wars because he got hit flush on the chin with power punches by jermain taylor, george groves, and mikkel kessler.
the guy fought the way he did because he had no other choices. his talents were going to lead to him getting punched in the face and needing to win on heart when he went against better athletes
his "fight everybody" mentality is also grossly overstated. he was candid about not wanting to rematch andre ward. he's on the record in interviews saying that he'd rather fight bute in a rematch, hopkins at 175, etc, over ward. the WBA ordered the rematch when ward came back, and froch retired.
the crew that pressure ward to move up to fight kovalev would never pressure froch to do the same. ward's a good fight for kovalev. froch would be horribly mismatched against a bigger, harder punching guy.
Tl, DR:
froich won't fight kovalev because he doens't need the money, or a beating to send him into "real retirement."

there's less than a handful of fighters who's resume is 100% acceptable in my eyes...meaning those fighters fought EVERYONE they needed to fight at the time they needed to....Froch is on that short list....he doesn't have to fight again, let alone move up....Froch is in a good place as far as his legacy is concerned.....that said, IF and I mean IF Froch was to take the Krusher fight, I see Froch getting beat up....I've never really bet against Froch, even picked him to beat my man Ward back then....Krusher is not for play...old heads and retired fighters don't need that pain in their lives lol.....let Ward deal with the Monster....if Ward can't beat him....NOBODY from 168-175 can
Froch is 38, retired and the last time he beat a top fighter (Kessler - a Ward leftover btw) was 2 and a half years ago
Rewatch the Ward fight - peak Froch got schooled at his own game
Correct.
Ward is a bad fight for Froch, and I think Froch knows it which is why he has never really pursued it.
Froch had a fantastic career and is now retired. He should rest on his laurels and stay that way, if that's what he wants to do.
However, if it is, then he should also stop trying to stay relevant by continually commenting on potential Degale and Golovkin fights.
I could see Kovalev coming down to 172, but Froch has to want it first. It's crazy to me that this fight is never mentioned by Froch, but especially by the fans. I see so many fans on this forum saying Canelo, GGG, and Ward need to move up, but nobody ever says it about Froch.
I doubt Kovalev could, or would agree to, make 172. Various comments from his camp indicate he's pretty tight at 175.
If Froch cant make 168, and wants to fight again, then 175 is the next division and there's both Stevenson or Kovalev for a PPV fight.
Ward at 172 is the only other feasible fight imo but I don't think Froch really wants that one either.
