Later in the interview when they ask him if he thinks he will ever get another title shot... He said he's back in the gym as he was offered a fight in NY on Jan 16... I thought it was Glazkov next but Bermane didn't go into detail...about the 22 minute mark...
Whatever. Old man ray austin was outboxing him until he got caught.
Ray Austin was a decent fighter. No amateur experience & he beat a few good heavyweights & had a few draws as well. He was a fringe contender at his peak (Top 15-25) but he was involved in some decent scraps. Yeah he was winning the Stiverne fight until he got caught. He went a lot further then he should have.
I really like stiverne and I think Malik Scott is all wrong for him.Scott is a pure boxer that moves very well and if doesn't get caught by one of Stiverne's bombs he will most likely outbox Bware.
Yea this makes sense. Scott got himself back in the picture. Stiverne isn't out of the picture yet. This is maybe the best fight for either guy.
Scott beat Thompson & moved up the ranks as did Stiverne after beating Rossy. I really want to see that Stiverne/Rossy fight. Stiverne was down for the 1st time in his career. He lost a bullsh*t fight to Demetrice King when it was clearly a bad stoppage but he was not off his feet.
Stiverne has already had his 15 minutes of fame and needs to **** off already.
I really don't give a **** about his career after his laughable performance against Wilder.
To be honest, if he was fighting in my backyard, I would turn the lights off and tell him to **** off home.
I agree... In my opinion Stiverne totally looked past Wilder & figured he was an easy payday. I thought Stiverne would win by KO if it got past 3 or 4 rounds. I have not won a bet on Stiverne yet. I picked Arreola to beat him twice & then I picked Stiverne to beat Wilder...
Exactly the same for me... I thought Arreola would beat Stiverne and Stiverne would beat Wilder.
It was also reported by boxingscene that Stiverne will fight in the undercard of Wilder's bout.

I still can't get over how a heavyweight managed to be dehydrated going into a fight.I agree... In my opinion Stiverne totally looked past Wilder & figured he was an easy payday. Why was he dehydrated again?
I think he claimed it was overtraining or something like that. I probably would have given him the benefit of the doubt had he said it was food poisoning.

I was literally thinking the same thing. I guess it's possible but it would sound more believable if he kept himself in top shape like the Klits, Joshua, Wilder, Jennings, etc. Seeing a guy with a gut claim to be dehydrated just seems weird.
I saw that video, but no way was I gonna watch it to look for the "shock announcement".
A rematch would be awful.
His comeback fight was a tough fight for him where he was downed... and it wasn't even shown.
I think they're still working on the Glazkov fight, but Stiverne rematch at this point is bad
Go look at the new WBC ranking at heavyweight , not only is Stiverne back in the ranking #4 again
At least we would see a fighter in better shape & hopefully not dehydrated. If he decided not to block all wilder's punches with his face he could do better. It's a good rematch in my opinion. Possibly why Don King didn't want the Ortiz fight? He may have weaseled his way in again. King has been a master at doing that. This a legit voluntary defence for Wilder before Povetkin. Let's see if the Wilder title win was legit. Winner gets Povetkin...
