As BoxingScene.com first reported on Saturday, David Haye will face Australian Mark De Mori on January 16.
The former world heavyweight champion makes his comeback after three-and-a-half years out of the ring.
Haye, 35, has not fought since knocking out Dereck Chisora in 2012.

First fight doesn't matter tbf.
It's a return to the ring, not a fight to gain a high ranking. A complete bum and a guy ranked anywhere outside the top 10 at HW are pretty similar...
De Mori is in the WBA top ten though. Smart move by Haye, way to acquire a high ranking quickly.
seems like he's more interested in wlad and fury than wilder and joshua. i think he'll have a tougher time in today's division than the one a few years ago. i don't see him ever getting his hands on another title
he's 35 years old and been out for 4 years
what were people expecting?
That he jumps straight into deontay wilder or anthony joshua this is what they
expected.. get a grip guys its his first fight after major shoulder surgery....
let him test the shoulder out and atleast mark de mori is in shape
I'm glad to see him back. If he is ok after his injury and gets a couple of fights under his belt, then he can go up and mix it when some of the bigger names in the division.
If the rumours of him losing money are true, then maybe he is just back to fight for the money. Hopefully though, he is unaffected by the shoulder and can put a good run of fights together.
After surgery and almost 4 years out, i'm not surprised by the choice of opponent. He will need a couple more like that before shaking off the ring rust.
"I'm so happy to be able to step back through the ropes and back into the ring"
He ought to be careful - that's a catastrophic toe injury waiting to happen.
Wow De Mori's boxrec makes for tragic reading. Just 6 months ago he fought a guy who was 2-5 and his one loss was against a guy who was 15-19-4 and weighed 40 pounds less than him.
Who the hell is going to pay to see this fight? I know when you go outside of the top 15-20 HW's there are slim pickings but this fight is a joke and will only go further than 1 round if Haye allows it to as he did with Audley Harrison.
100%
Just laughable fight and promotion altogether.

Spot on! :lol1:

The whole press conference went off like a wet fart in a hurricane.
Haye looked embarrassed and the promoters seemed completely clueless in what they were saying.
It would be good to have Haye back in boxing, but I am worried that this is going to bomb already.
I think you have to give him a pass seeing as he's been out of the ring 3 years and did have a serious shoulder injury.
I would expect a decent step up after this one though, if not then slate him all you want.
If Haye can sustain something resembling a career again it's pretty obvious he'd step it up really quickly.
Haye is renowned for wanting to shoot for the top.
As skeptical as I am of Haye now I think we can allow him a bit of a warm up after nearly 4 years.
I mean we can't ALL be Vitali Klitschko!
