Let's be real here.
Canelo is a young kid, not a punk. He's well-mannered, well-spoken, and a dignified representative of his country. The face-to-face with Cotto on Max Kellerman was downright cordial. He's also a great fighter, with a bright future ahead of him. Boxing could do a lot worse than Canelo. My only beef with him is that, like other Mexican fighters, such as JCC Jr., Canelo was brought along in baby steps. He has a bloated professional record which cannot be compared to those who have an amateur career before getting their first pro win. He comes with a certain amount of hype, which was only too evident when then pitted him against Floyd. Can't blame Canelo himself for that, only his hype machine.
But you can be a Canelo fan without being a Cotto hater. When that line is blurred and crossed, I lose all respect for those "fans."
