Judging from the hate-filled threads and posts in here, directing their hate at Cotto..... I would say there's gonna be a lot silence and a lot less people in here on Sunday morning. Same thing that happens after every emotional fight. That's the denial stage. Then will come the excuse and belittling stage. Excuses as to why Canelo lost, and belittling Cotto's win.
Boxing forums are nothing if not predictable.
;)
- If Canelo can take Cottos shots and not get dropped, That says alot about his chin and resistance. Yes I know an argument can be made about Cottos last 3 opponents, but the bottom line is that he won by TKO/KO. He has that snap on his shots again, that snap he had when he started at 140lbs. Essentialy Canelo is going to feel power that he hasnt tasted before tonight.
That's a possibility, but I doubt Cotto hits harder than Lara.
If Cotto can take Canelo into the later rounds while staying dedicated to attacking the body, he can win. There is no other scenario I can envision where Miguel has a chance.

I disagree. I think the excuses and belittling will begin immediately after the fight and continue for at least the next week. I am sure Oscar de la Hoya already has his injury excuse ready.
Some will claim that Alvarez is still too green after 46 fights, even though those same people claimed that Cotto was over the hill when he fought Mayweather. Others will claim that Cotto cheated, the ref cheated and that Alvarez was winning the fight when he got KO'd.
Sunday will be another sad day on the boxing scene message board, but it will be lively nonetheless.
You're right.

;)Obviously you are brand new here or you would know any time there is a super fight, these boards are busier than ever, NO EXCEPTION. This place will be anything but quiet, regardless of the outcome.
I got Cotto winning the fight but I wouldn't be shocked if Canelo pulled it off. Hes a solid young fighter with talent. The Cotto haters will go crazy if Canelo wins though, should be fun here either way.

I'd be okay with whoever winning, I lik both. But I think Canelo wins and fights GGG eventually. If Cotto wins, he either retires or just keeps fighting in big money fights only, not 97k PPV sellers. Which is okay both ways. Cotto is on his way, he should not sacrifice himself for the sake of the 97,000 GGG fans.

He hasn't won yet. I don't mind the Cotto fans who like him and pick him to win. It's guys like you I find annoying. You act like Cotto has already won the fight. Cotto hasn't won a thing yet except in your imagination. Cotto is a 3 to 1 underdog so the smart money is on Canelo. If Canelo wins AS EXPECTED will you be here on Sunday morning??????
Some of these odds though are juicy...
I'm looking at Bovada - but I've never done online betting so I'm nervous if its legit. But at the moment Cotto is +250 and there is some other juicy odds...
Tempting

I'm aware Cotto's the underdog. My beef is with the irrational haters, who like to bring up everything from low blows, to knees, to pink socks, to anything they can use to feed their hate. I think it's gonna be an action-filled, competitive fight..... where any man could win. So you've gotten the wrong impression about what I think about the fight.
And yes...... I will be here on Sunday morning (not too early, though).
i think cotto will win. he's the better boxer, has more experience and isn't drained like canelo. Also its a good thing that cotto wins because then ggg will have 3 of the belts because we know canelo ducks him.
How is Canelo drained? First, he looked fantastic today and secondly, he's fighting at his created weightclass...
