He would have to weigh over 160 to not be able to win the belt. He could weigh in at 159.9 and still win the belt. I think Canelo is an honorable professional and would not deliberately weigh in over the contract weight of 155.

I don't know man, he didn't sound to eager about facing GGG. Its a strategy that will allow him to avoid defending the belt should he win. So we're speculating what Canelo is gonna do because Cotto vacated the belt, we all know for a fact he wanted nothing to do with GGG. He pretty much came out and said without actually saying it. Cotto being stripped of his title has no impact on Canelo, the same stipulations apply if he were to come in over 155 as they would have before yesterday's incidents. I am sure he is on track to make weight but it would be pretty funny to see. Its not like Cotto is going to walk away from his biggest payday because of it. I doubt the weight penalty is all that high that Canelo or GBP wouldn't pay it. Completely agree!
