Cotto is a smart mofo

Cotto is no longer the lineal champ. Doug Fisher was asked this on Twitter and he laid it out. this was a while ago though According to The Ring and the fans beloved TBRB, Cotto is still the 160 champion.

I could be wrong, but I am really sure I read that he paid GGG a little over 800,000 step aside fee so this fight could happen for the belt in the first place. Seems to me, if he was smart, he would have just given up the belt and saved himself the 800,000.

Any unifying fight with GGG was NEVER going to be about Cotto. He was never going to get in the ring with Golovkin. I don't blame him. He's too small, he'd get hurt against a MW with skills who can eat punches and deliver serious power. I don't blame him for removing himself from the picture. Now how will Canelo step aside? He'll beat Cotto (in a tough fight I think) and then buy time like crazy. Because he's not getting in that ring with Golovkin either. The only people that want to fight GGG are significantly larger than him.

It was already clear Cotto didn't want to fight GGG. I'm not even going to say anything bad about Cotto because at least everyone knows where they stand on the Cotto v GGG front, it's never going to happen. He's made that clear. Now if Canelo wins and becomes the champ, lets see what he does. I guess he isn't going to fight GGG either so he will vacate. At least everything will be 100% clear that neither guy is going to fight him so we can all move on from it.

Damn, you act like the fight is already over and Cotto won. You don't know the future before it happens so quit acting like you do. Cotto hasn't won diddly sh*t yet. He hasn't beat Canelo except in your imagination. It isn't when Cotto beats Canelo. It's IF Cotto beats Canelo. The odds makers don't think it's very likely that Cotto beats Canelo. Canelo is a solid 3 to 1 betting favorite so the smart money is on Canelo to win. Wait until the fight is over before you crown Cotto the winner. That is how it works. First they have an actual real fight in the ring and not in your head. Only after the fight is over is there a winner of the fight or a draw verdict.

Insted of waiting after the canelo fight and look like a ***** by vacating the belt he insted refuses to pay the sanctioning and insted gets strips by the wbc thus exposing sanctioning bodys as money hoes that only care about money and he can go on after and say he didnt duck because he got striped.
