Hi guys. This is my part 3 of Mayweather tricks. This is Probably my last post of Mayweather since hes not that complex of a fighter. Most of his skills relies in his athleticism and excellence in fundamentals. He of course did learn alot more things to put in his arsenal over the years as he gained experience. Im pretty sure you already know the stuff he does now like the philly shell or the pull counter. This is the stuff you probably don't notice about Mayweather
1. Glove Tap.
Often this is just a feeler move. Mayweather will touch his opponent leads hand with his Jab to touch them. He usually does this to further disrupt his own rhythm so his opponent can't defend his Jab since they don't know if he's gonna feel or throw a real jab.
This move can also take away and opponents jab. Constantly pawing at his lead glove makes them bring their hands back to their face
2. Elbow deflect
He used this a little bit more in the olympics because they were very strict with their rules and he relied on more movement.Because the Olympics are very strict and forbid the use of smothering your opponent with your shoulder he simply didn't use it and chose to put his hands up.So for the most part Floyd would fight from the traditional guard and used the philly shell when forced into a corner
This tactic almost ties into philly shell , but instead replaces his sholulder with his elbow. Instead of blocking the right hand with elbow he'll sometimes bring up his elbow to fully deflect the shot from punching over his shoulder. Its funny cause I saw this done on the guys from 52 blocks, and Floyd was doing this over 20 years ago!
Thats my list guys. I might post on more fighters a little later. My First post and second was fully original but I borrowed some in this post by a boxing analyst named Lee Wylie and Sayf Carman
Any tricks you'd like to post? It can be of any fighter you want. Include gifs if you want
For fighters and their fans who b1tch about CLINCHING and hate the fighters who do it, well this is how you deal with it and notice in this video who he used the "Cross-Face Forearm" against? Ricky Hatton a guy who was a Mauler and did a TON of Clinching
You simple minded boxing fans call this cheating today, that is because your favorite fighters today are not clever or skilled enough to come up with tricks like this to deal with certain styles.
A REAL P4P Fighter can figure out ANY STYLE, he shouldn't have to only need to fight against a certain style to look good and to win impressively. You face a "Runner" you cut the fuking ring off, you face a mauler you get inside with him and beat him at his own game, you face a dirty fighter you get dirty back with him. Now all I see is fighters crying to the ref and their fans blaming everybody else for their favorite fighter looking bad instead of getting on their favorite fighter for not being prepared for a style that they know they're facing. You fighting Lara you know he is a mover but yet you not prepared to cut the ring off but then after fighting him you and your fans are b1tching about his style.
his greatest trick is convincing everyone that his opponent needs to go above and beyond to beat him. he's always "in control" and "outboxing" his opponent no matter who is landing the cleaner punches. if his opponents just standing there landing the cleaner punches he can't solve floyd! he needs to do something more! reputation erases reality

1. The short check hook.
Of course everyone knows about Mayweathers check hook that he used to knock Ricky Hatton into the turn buckles. But people maybe not realize how useful it can be for people who duck at the waist. It can be relatively simple for most but can be hard to execute, Ill explain why in second.
Prior to check hook when you throw a short hook when you throw a left hook while pivoting out the short check hook can be used against othrodox opponents(If you othrodox as well) to suprise opponents by hitting them with a left hook. Floyd used this tactic alot against Shane Mosley. The problem with this tactic is that the hook can come out so short that the shot comes out very weak. It can almost very feel like your slap your opponent with your glove. Maybe Floyd's experience as a boxer throw that shot harder than most but he'll often add a little power to it by thowing a shovel hook or by stomping when he delivers it
2. Elbow deflect
He used this a little bit more in the olympics because they were very strict with their rules and he relied on more movement. This tactic ties in to philly shell , but instead replaces his sholulder with his elbow. Instead of blocking the right hand with elbow he'll sometimes bring up his elbow to fully deflect the shot from punching over his shoulder.
He used this also against Victor Ortiz to blow his southpaws jab because it came at a. different angle

His best trick is using steroids while hiring an agency to test you to make sure your clean. I'd say that the biggest trick in the history of boxing
He's right thread would be better with some gifs or something. Just use a YouTube gif maker thing if you know specific fights and times that he did these things
