The dude has sick skill, can adapt, change gears and punch. I want to see him vs Loma because I don't like that he squeezes into smaller divisions. His skill however can't be denied.
no
Walters is more a talent along the line of Julio Cesear Chavez Jr. Who's talent is losing weight and beating up smaller fighters. Walters has talent but being the larger man is his main skill i can see to this point.
They wouldn't have fought Russell Jr on Showtime if they got cold feet. That could have been it for Loma's career
Jr had done nothing prior to fighting Loma and was constantly made fun of for his resume consisting of TBAs lol
I dont know how you can rank Walters over someone like Uchiyama
Uchiyama has been the kingpin of his division for years, and has already crushed the closest rival he has
Walters beat a much smaller Donaire who was practically run out of 122 by Rigo. Its a decent win, but nothing more. That clear size advantage has to mean something, just as it did for Crawford-Gamboa
But I get it, youve seen Walters on US TV so there we go
I agree with this and would pick Uchiyama to beat Walters
Rigo-Donaire got made because Donaire always fought the best he could get his hands on.
Loma or at the very least, Loma's team got massive cold feet after the Salido debacle and are bringing him along slowly. The world title he has around his waist is a bit of a travesty.

Loma-Walters will happen eventually because they are both Top Rank.
My guess is sooner, rather than later, HBO puts too much money on the table for them to politic around. Similar to how Rigo/Donaire eventually got made - just too much money for small men to pass up, i.e., 750k - 1.3 million each.

Brook has some skill and good pop but he isn't the real deal in the truest sense. He's a star and look how he's been matched...
I cant get over how bad he struggled with Jones the first time
Dudes will struggle vs some guys on the way up the ladder..
the jones fight isn't that big of a deal... i saw dawson struggle with an old glen johnson,, saw hopkins struggle with mercado... both came back in the rematch and won decisively,, same thing with brook...
I chalk it up as a learning experience... and don't hold it over brook's head
Definitely higher than Brook, no which way you cut it.

No..
He needs some more quality wins... his best win is a soul-less donaire
walters needs to stay active, pick a weight class, make weight, and keep winning..
right now he is one of the top 25 guys in the world but to make top 10 he needs to do more
Nah.. At this stage we don't know of he's a great fighter or just a big fighter overpowering smaller guys. I'm still not sold.
+1 here :boxing:
lets see if he moves to 130 and dominate there
Bradley resume is better than Lomachenko
No wlad?
Other than that, that's a fair list of the top 10 fighters in the sport.
Walters, danny, thurman, brook they are in the next 10.
Bradley nearly got a mention, he is a fighter I respect the hell outta but I just feel there are fighters who bring more to the table. Aint all about resume, its all subjective which is why im happy placing Lomachenko so high, he has yet to beat elite guys but he's willing and he passes the eye test with ease, matter of fact im seeing this guy do things ive never seen done in 25 years of watching boxing.
Nah, no problem with someone rating him due to his dominance but I rarely have heavys in the top 10, certainly not when they throw a jab for 10 rounds before anything follows
1. Gonzalez
2. Lomachenko
3. Golovkin
4. Ward
5. Kovalev
6. Rigondeux
7. Pacquaio
8. Alvarez
9. Cotto
10. Crawford
Walters is in the mix after that with guys like Beterbiev & Stevenson

Not just yet. The ND win was huge but I'd like to see him in with another couple top class fighters and see how he deals with them.
In hypothetical terms, I believe he beats LSC/Mares/Selby/Loma but I'm not sure if even one of those fights ever gets made.
