So I been thinking Tim Bradley is a throw back fighter he will literally fight anyone he is tough as nails he never gives up his fights are entertaining as hell so why is this guy not absolutely beloved? The easy answer would be because hes black and while im sure that has something to do with it. I think there is far more to it. Other fighters similar to bradley who put their heart soul and even life on the line to stay in and win fights have become beloved, even getting into the hall of fame in some cases because of these reasons.
Then it dawned on me the first pac man fight where he got his gift decision. Manny was such a beloved fighter that it instantly killed bradley because in his mind he thought he won and honestly who are we to tell him hes lying he probably truly believes he won but people say because he wont say he lost drop the title all this bs that they hate him when honestly thats ridiculous.
Then I started thinking this guy cant catch a break you got the obvious manny 1 and the back lash. Then after that fight he takes on the mostly unknown provonikov and gives one of the most gutsy performances in the last 50 years. After the fight he gets no credit once again and people say he lost, there was drama with knockdowns and other things but at the end of the day he earned that victory and all he got was more backlash. His biggest victory was marquez i had him winning but once again more backlash most seem to think marquez won for reasons I cant figure out no matter how many times I watch the fight. The guy cant catch a break. Then there was the fight against chavez he won and they scored it a draw somehow once again taking away a clean victory. Then he dominates Vargas but takes a shot late and fight gets stopped early once again more drama no clean victory even tho he would have won he once again gets no credit.
Im just curious what you guys think about all this cause to me bradley is a fighter who cant catch a break. even tho he is a fan friendly fighter who literally puts his life on the line in fights and will fight anyone, the guy is as throw back as it gets but still the guy is not beloved and basically gets no credit even though hes everything people pretend they want in fighters. You would think by now all things considered people would start to back him. Hes not the fastest, strongest, quickest but he has so much heart that it over rides all that. Hes not a KO artist but so what you dont have to get knockouts to be fan friendly. The guy says he wants to fight GGG and honestly I believe him the guy is literally a fighter from 1945.
So in saying all this why is he not more beloved? you would think a guy whose fights are that entertaining that cant catch a break would eventually get more fans and become a bigger star at the very least in the boxing world. I personally dont get it and im wondering your guys opinion on it all because Bradley is one of my favorite fighters.
Wait...what?
lol you didn't read the tweets post fight? Busta Rhymes was so angry, hundreds of other celebs as well, he deleted some of his more violent tweets though lol I think he had one where he said If I see you imma catch you n#66a, fans were even threatening to kill Bradley or catch him with a clean one if they saw him in the street. Even Joel Diaz had to bring food to Bradleys home because Bradley was scared to leave his house, his family was receiving death threats from NON filipino pactars.

A few of Bustas angry tweets:
“BRADLEY, I’M GLAD UR CONCIOUS IS EATING U UP ENOUGH 2 ADMIT THAT U DON’T EVEN BELIEVE U WON HOMIE. GO CHECK THE TAPE AND RUN THAT BELT!!,” he tweeted June 10th.
“BRADLEY U CAN’T SLEEP 2NIGHT THE FEEDBACK IS OVERWHELMING ISN’T IT? THE WORLD KNOWS U LOST. DO THE RIGHT THING & GIVE THAT BELT 2 PACMAN!!!”
“BRADLEY, THE PEOPLE HAVE SPOKEN!! U CAN’T POSSIBLY BRANDISH A VICTORY NO 1 RESPECTS. DO THE HONORABLE THING AND VOLUNTEER UR BELT 2 PACMAN!” (Busta Rhymes’ Twitter)
He is a victim of circumstance.
Pacquiaqo was so beloved nobody wanted him to lose, he was competing against a guy like Pacquiao and people wanted Pac to keep on winning so he could fight Floyd, Bradley got a decision and people hated him instead of thejudges.
Even Andre Ward demanded that Bradley hand the belt over to Manny, and Busta Rhymes threatened to use violence on Bradley lol.
Bradley is one of the strongest minded individuals, to go through that, and he said he even thought he wanted to jump into the ocean and die he had to go into hiding for months after the fight.
He was given dirty looks at starbucks, it wasnt Bradley who made the decision it was the judges. People get mad at the wrong people.

32-1, 12 KO's. He's a pitty-pat puncher. His only notable KO was against a wayyyyy past it Casamayor. He got a gift decision against Pacquiao the first time around. Provo soundly whipped his ass, but he got the decision anyway. He even suffered brain damage in that fight, which caused slurred speech for 3 months! Provo had him out on his feet. He was swinging on instinct the way a wilder beast kicks even as a lion's fangs are crushing its windpipe. Yet they said, "What heart this guy has!". If he beats Rios soundly, I'll gain respect for him, but he won't, so I won't.
Damn, I got to give Bradley props; he whipped up on Rios pretty soundly, even though "Bam bam" didn't really show up. The addition of Atlas may prove fruitful.:boxing:
Bad timing. There weren't many uber popular fighters around 140 and 147 and 154 because of 2 named fighters. It was hard to support anyone else while busy defending either one of those guys.
Yeah, he fights as the A side as the main event on HBO. He normally draws 1 million plus people to watch. He's made a ton of money. He's not a huge star, but he's popular.
It is true that, for a variety of reasons already mentioned, he isn't (and won't ever be) as big as Mayweather or Pac-Man (partially, because he's not as good as them). But he's one of the more popular fighters out there.
He's one of my favorite guys to watch. People like him.
The thing I like about Bradley is that even though he isn't naturally gifted and skilled as the elite, he has an elite heart and will that gets him through fights and to wins. This guy has an indominable will and is an extremely hard worker. Attributes like that can take a medicore skilled fighter to the top of the mountain.
Well it depends what you mean by "beloved', because as far as I can see fans show him a lot of love. Everytime things are posted about him on FB the people in the comments are all praising him and complimenting him, and by the way... the majority of people complimnting him are Mexican/Latino and white so the "because he's black" thing is retarded.
Oh yeah and of course he will never reach Pacquiao level popularity because of the obvious reasons... he doesn't do anything particularly well, he isn't the fastest guy, the hardest hitting guy, the slickster.... he is an average boxer with incredible athleticism and endurance.
1. The Pacquiao robbery and the fact that he thought he won.
2. He's awkward and undisciplined in the ring. He can box well but tends to get in wars when he doesn't have the power for that.
3. His head
4. His girl
5. Dawg Pound USA turned him down and so shall I.
I got nothing against him, but don't feel love for him!
Green to you.
Well put!

I don't think I would consider Floyd to be a popular or beloved fighter. He made millions for being hated.
Like I said earlier in this thread, you don't have the numbers Mayweather did because of hate alone. He had a massive fanbase that liked watching him fight.
He isn't a throwback fighter, he called out Khan got his opportunity then ducked the fight with "What if I lose" Danny Garcia didn't say what "If I lose to Khan" he went out there and took him out, so to suggest Bradley is a throwback fighter is wrong.
Secondly Bradley is Bradley his profile would never be that much higher, he can fight Pac a hundred times and it wouldn't change anything with his market value.
Lastly the fact that he is with Arum doesn't help his career to progress.
No way, pre Pacquiao yes but Bradley's been on a landslide for a while now. Rios is going to outwork him IMO.
ya no doubt like i said i would not be surprised if rios pulls it off but i think bradley will out box him to be honest with u. i dont think hes on this downward trend as much as people think

thats ridiculous while playing the haters like a fiddle was part of his rise he also had a lot of people that loved watching him fight. u dont get that big strictly off being hated if it were that easy every hated fighter who was good would be a mega star
Honestly speaking bro, I think black ppl don't like him because he shows his grit, brawls and fights his balls off. That's become frowned upon in the African American fan base. It's all about being slick and not getting in to brawls or wars. I've even seen him be called a dumb fighter. That's crazy to me. He's also like Andre Ward in that he's a laid back black guy. Broner and Floyd are different and get hate but it's works great for them. Idk if u can see what I mean but that's what I think is wrong with Tims lack of popularity.
