Good for you Larry! I trained my boys in martial arts since they could walk...age appropriately, none of that 12 year old with a black belt BS, but real training never the less. It is great for kids, you see how it helps them even when they do not. Its great that you train your kid....and being fun is great because it keeps em coming back!:usaribbon

:boxing::boxing:
that's wassup.... you never know he might end up really falling in love with the sport!
Your kid looks good, Larry.
I suggest you try to find him a good trainer. Since you don't know sh1t about boxing, I would hate for you to give him bad advice.
:D
He has the power (good thing) -- Now to develop defense and boxing combinations behind a solid jab. All this around that power.
Please keep reminding him the importance of training and dedication specially him being a teenager we all know how that works....
I wish you guys well!!
Are you training him Larry? or he will have a trainer soon?
no offense man but he looks sub par....
You do realize this is a child right???? Are you a trainer, boxer, or ever been in boxing gym to work out or spar:boxing:

Heres what I see wrong he wings punches, doesn't tuck elbows in,doesn't tuck chin in smother's the right hand isn't working on full extension of punches when bobs and weaves he doesn't create a u motion at times needs to move to his right to creat an angle when bobing and weaving and the most important thing for a novice bring your hands back to your chin drops his hands to much
Teach him the Trinidad left hook -- the one where he slips the left jab and simultaneously cocks back the left hand. He slips, cocks, and counters all in one motion. If done correctly it knockouts most opponents.
In the video you posted, your son was throwing the Roy Jones double hook. Not a bad technique, but one of these hurts more than two of those.
This one.

hurts most when you have loaded gloves, teach him that too
He throws with authority.. but it Seems he could throw his combinations with a bit more tightness and fluidity. He's vulnerable inbetween some of those shots. Soon as he follows through with one he should be flowing into another... there's a little too much delay on the follow through.
Another thing I would suggest is let him punch the bag free sometimes. It helps the eye to track the target and the feet to adapt to different angles of attack. Sometimes you just gotta let little man spread his wings, eh?
Good ish. Tell little man to keep it up
