Terence Crawford looked impressive tonight, Amir Khan was lucky to beat Chris Algieri. Crawford won every round, hurt his opponent every round, scored knockdowns and a stoppage. Khan was hurt in his last fight, didn't hurt his opponent, didn't score a knockdown and was fortunate to win a decision.
Khan has a better overall resume but Crawford has been better recently.
Khan has been winning decisions over past it fighters last few years and no real titles. Crawford has been knocking out good opponents, won lightweight and junior welterweight titles this year and was voted 2014 Fighter of the Year.
Now Khan might be more money and have a bigger name than Crawford but which of the two is most deserving of a Pacquiao fight?
algieri would beat crawford
crawford is a lower weight class fighter, he hasnt done nought at 140 let alone 147..i sure don't buy the hype..
he'll come unstuck as he moves up in weight....lucky for him the best guys at 140 have now all moved up
what does algieri do better than crawford?
list it. go into details.
crawford is 5'8 156 lbs. fight night.
you act like he's small.
algieri was an even match for khan.
algieri is not on crawford level.

Khan, just because its the bigger fight to be honest and would be a bit more thrilling because anything could happen.
khan might be a bigger name.
but khan-pac more thrilling?
khan was throwing "PLEASE STAY AWAY" meaningless combos, running and clinching vs. a featherfisted algieri.
he's gonna exchange with pac?
algieri couldn't keep pac off of him.
algieri was going at khan.
remember that.
Algieri may very well beat Crawford because he's acclimatized to 147 while Crawford isn't.
That fight might very well be Algieri's coming out party, it's a good match up though and a difficult first opponent for Crawford as he enters the division.
It would make a lot of sense for him to make that fight first before entertaining high level fighters like Khan, Floyd and Pac because he won't be the same fighter straight away as he moves up to 147, it'll take at least one fight to fine tune the tools.
Look what happened to Maidana when he moved up to 147, he looked like a complete zombie and got whupped by Alexander (just another example).
yawn.....
crawford probably gets pacquiao fight.
enjoy khan vs. washed up guerrero (IF KHAN FINDS COURAGE TO JUMP TO THAT LEVEL)
It depends on what fans want from Pacquiao and what Pacquiao wants.
As a boxing fan, I want the best possible style match up equating for the best possible fight, and that is, without a shadow of a doubt, Manny Pacquiao v Amir Khan. It is also the biggest PPV fight out there not featuring a Cotto or a Canelo. Simple as that.
What Pacquiao should want, imo anyway, is a legacy fight and in those terms, that is beating Brook for the IBF welterweight crown, possibly in England but the location is highly unlikely.
What I'm sure Pacquiao will get and I'm sure this is what he wants for one last, quick buck and that is the easiest, "name" fight and that is versus Crawford. Now don't get me wrong, Crawford is very good, he could be potentially exceptional but in all honesty, he hasn't fought the best at 140 and has done nothing at 147...why is this fight even up for debate? Stylistically, if Pacquiao fights hungry and his shoulder is back to normal, he will eat Crawford up.
Crawford is a good two punch player but he isn't great outside of that, is a slow starter and will just get outworked and then hurt. But hey, all three are better names than a certain...Berto...ahem.

Now there's a more even match up and a good welcome to the division for Crawford - fight Algieri and if he can beat him then it's time to think about stepping it up to the next level to Pac and Floyd and then start reaching for the top of the division towards Khan.
Problem is, would Algieri actually beat Crawford and most probably KO him?
Let's find out, make it happen.
algieri was an even match for khan.
algieri is not on crawford level.
BWAA votes, Ring and ESPN rankings are SUBJECTIVE.
WBC rankings are BOUGHT.
khan has no chance with pacquiao. NONE.
pacquiao toyed with algieri, while khan went life and death with algieri.
algieri a light punching boxer, slugged and pressured khan and hurt him. :lol1:

Rankings are subjective too, even the computer system is completely fallible.
But Khan unranked? lol
Khan WBC #1.
Crawford isn't even at 147, do you seriously think it's fair on the guy to jump up a weight division to face Pacquiao in his first fight at a new weight?
If he wants the Pacquiao fight, any serious trainer will make him take a tune up at 147 first otherwise you're doing your fighter no favors. Look what happened to Marquez when Floyd made him jump up from 135 to fight him at 147, he was like a zombie in there.
Crawford would get completely annihilated by Pacquiao whereas Khan actually has a very good chance of beating him, and fairly easily at this point too.

gotcha.
awards don't mean anything.
how about rankings?
crawford top 10 p4p. khan unranked.

Funny, how the whole "he has never fought at WW" argument applied to Khan, but not Crawford.
I for one have been "meh" about Khan vs Pac, although it'd be nice if Khan does get it, I've always preferred DSG rematch over Pac. So, based on that I'd say Crawford, not cuz I believe he deserves it more, but cuz I prefer other fights for King Khan.
Also it always made sense to sacrifice Pacquiao to Crawford and use it as a springboard in order for them to launch their next superstar. Just keep that boy away from Postol.
Crawford is an undefeated P4P ranked, 2 weight world champion.
Khan was world champion like 3,5 years ago and was knocked out.
The two are not the same. Khan deserved it more in 2012 than he does now.
take your stupid talk out of my thread.
Well put! Stay down.
I hope Crawford. As much as I would love to see Manny destroy Khan, I prefer to see Crawford.
What on ESPN & BWAA? lol
Who cares about a network's subjective fighter of the year award. It's a joke just like their rigged polls.
BWAA is another joke, they gave Mayweather fighter of the year in 2013 for beating C-level Guerrero and a weight-drained, green Canelo. There goes their credibility.

how many of those khan won?
