I'm not a diehard GGG fan, but this is getting ridiculous. I remember when fighters could stay at one division, clean it up, and reign for years. They were liked and respected. (Hagler, anyone?). Now... all sorts of ridiculous claims and hate come in daily for GGG, who to my knowledge has not ducked anybody AT 160.
Can someone please tell me what 160-pound fighter has come up to Golovkin and said: "I'd like to fight you at 160"..... and Golovkin said "No"?? Then what in hell is everyone going on about here?
Myth # 1: GGG is ducking Ward.
NO. GGG is not ducking Ward. Ward is a 168-pounder. A division above GGG. Golovkin would have to come up, or Ward would have to come down. Simple as. For the record, and just to show I'm not like some of the groupies in here, I'm pretty sure Ward would quite handily defeat GGG if they were to meet.... especially at 168. But Ward fights when Haley's Comet appears.... so I doubt we'll be seeing that fight anytime this century. Besides, Ward is busy drumming up interest in a mega-fight with someone named Rohan Murdock.
Want to hear about a good, old-fashioned, upcoming DUCK? That'll be if Canelo gets past Cotto. Everybody from Earth knows Canelo is truly a 160-pounder wanting to squeeze into a 154-pound division. Cotto will be giving away all kinds of size when they meet. Canelo's at 168 right NOW. So should Canelo beat Cotto, he'll be asked to fight GGG next. Except he's already said NO. Golovkin has to come down to 155. If GGG agrees, De La Hoya will think of another excuse to avoid the fight.
But getting off topic. Why the hate for GGG? Is it because he's a Kazak? Because he's got big ears? Because his English is broken? Why? Please enlighten me.
You really should t ask obvious questions because the trolls and haters will just pull bull**** out their human ass.
GGG ducking Lara?
GGG ducking Lee?
Truth is GGG hasn't ducked any fighter yet? He hasn't had a reason too. He's head and shoulders above everyone at MW. But that isn't saying he won't in the future like most fighters have.
Lara last less time then Lemeuix.
GGG can actually cut off a ring unlike Canelo. He gets smashed to pieces while running for his life...
And LOL at that imbecile who keeps saying Andy Lee..come on, is it that hard now to hate on GGG that you gotta bring up Lee? You're a retard..
Lara is talking greasy again...

I have addressed this numerous times on this board. It shows how much people really follow GGG...
The Lee vs GGG bout, the "original" supposed fight, was cancelled before April of 2014. GGG has fought 4 guys since and Snachez nor K2 ever mentioned it there after... Lee is technically the #1 ranked Southpaw at 160 with legit power... They went with Monroe Jr. 18th ranked with 6-KO power with Snachez stating he was the best "Southpaw" available for GGG at 160...
Ducking.
Andy Lee does not make it past 8 rounds vs GGG. Both Vera and Chavez Jr knocked him out in under 8 rounds. Golovkin does either the same or does it faster.
That was an unexpected fumble by Sanchez. However, the Lara bit is old news. I find it so so interesting the GGG bandwagoners have chosen to detract the whole Andy Lee course vs GGG.
There's still Quillin and Jacobs under the WBA Super. Great bouts in 2016 at 160. It has saturated itself back to normal.
There was a signed fight with Andy Lee and Golovkin but GGG's father died which is the reason why the fight didn't go through I believe.
When they picked Willie Munroe and said he was a bigger name than Lara, it raised a huge red flag.
Yeah K2 and Sanchez ducking Andy Lee. Usually boxers are vocal about certain opposition they want even if it was supposedly cancelled from the get go.
I dare anyone to post videos of GGG wanting opposition - a name - other than Cotto or Alvarez...

Late 2016
(if you look closely its not Golovkin :D)
Agreed. It's too bad. I guess the boxing gods didn't want "80,000 in Wembley" to see Froch's life come to an end.
Golovkin wouldn't be able to attract 80,000 to Wembley. As shown at the weekend, his team severely overestimated his market value. No one in the UK even knows who he is.
Yeah Froch retired over Mr.97k. Ok bro

The hate he gets is nothing compared to what a certain, popular, black, skilled boxer used to get. At least, the criticisms for this guy are very legit. He isn't that popular and has fought nobodies until now. It's actually not hate, it's the truth. In my opinion, he's not getting criticized enough and is put on a pedestal because he's white. That's the whole truth.
Plus, the middleweight division is the weakest it's been for a while. Man up and fight Ward at 168.
I want to see Golovkin fight Lara. Not sure why it was rejected in all honesty. Still, it's not as bad as retiring (Froch) in order to duck a threat, especially someone smaller.

It was rejected because Willie Munroe is a bigger name than Lara apparently
Abel Sanchez has rejected the idea of facing Erislandy Lara on more than one occasion.
I know he's a 154lber but the fight would be at 160lbs.
