Is he actually any part Korean?
I'm in Korea now, my girlfriend is Korean. I've been watching a lot of sports tv here and never any mention of him and they usually jump on anything partially Korean that's successful.
I once read his mother is Korean but never seen anything else about it.

Golovkin is 1/4 Korean. His mother's father was born in Korea and moved to Russia. Gennady never met his grandpa though.

He's never acknowledged that side of him, or even his Russian side for that matter. He's maintained that he's Kazakh, even though he has no Kazakh blood. His wife is Kazakh.
I acknowledge him as an axx kicking wRrior.
Good post

I have worked in APAC for the last 12 years. Who cares about his Korean whatever. He is a power house puncher, come forward warrior.
Can't we leave it at that???
This is not directed to the guy I am replying to. But I get what he is saying, jump on anything that brings honor to your people. Same thing in Japan, & China. Silly stuff. It begs the question, how many pure Koreans are boxing stars??? But that is a stupid question.
We are all members of the human race. Look at the heart of the fighter, his skills, and very little else. It will stop a lot of this fanatical fan crap.
