Unpopular opinion, sure but his hype right now is off the charts and rightfully so, but having seen him climb P4P rankings I think it's gone a little to far. So far, there's no doubt in my mind he's the most overrated fighter in todays game.
I just want to see the unbridled hype train make a stop at reality.
•He has not won a world title inside the ring. GGG merely won an interim belt, was elevated to being a “regular” champion and only became the fully-fledged WBA “super” champion earlier this year. The WBA chose to promote his status rather than actually competing for these belts (vacant or otherwise) inside the ring.
•He has not defeated a 160lb fighter that was universally-considered as a top-three ranked middleweight opponent.
• He has not defeated an opponent that was a holder of one of the main world championship belts at the time they fought him.
You are right about every point, but he is destroying everyone on his path even top 10- top 5 opponents(Example Murray)
Good skills, great fighter, but lack of elite competition.
Give him time, from here on, he is going to get those name for his resume.
Money is the key to get those names.
I didn't see any of the title holders lining up to fight him....Martinez ducked him and he was the only one worth fighting anyway....
Middleweight is a weak division. I honestly think he's fighting the 2nd best guy this weekend if you don't consider Cotto/Canelo middleweights...
I'd take Lemueix over Jacobs easily and over Quillen in a more competitive fight.
