mayweather is obviously friends with berto, they have been trying to make that fight for years and berto kept loosing. For his final fight he decided to throw berto a bone. It was about him getting berto a payday and having an easy final fight. Its done with, who gives a ****. People that wanted mayweather to loose are just butt hurt they never got to see it.

This is true but they're young lions that would have offered more of a challenge than Berto, if not actually, then at least in the minds of fans. Could they have done more to put themselves out there by fighting each other? Sure, but all that means is we have no idea how they're going to respond in the ring. The Berto fight was a fight for Mayweather to complete his Showtime contract. It was a stay busy fight. Floyd beat the guy everyone wanted to see him face. Even the promotion for the fight was exhausting so I don't blame the man for taking an easy fight especially at 38 years old after facing and defeating your career rival. Lol there's really no way you can actually interpret Berto as a stay busy fight. Like none at all. You might want to check the definition of stay busy fight.

There's obviously limits. If it's a stay busy fight or coming off a loss or moving up division or facing their mandatory, of course it's reasonable to expect. I remember this too! I respect your points, I just don't agree. It really bugged me that he chose Berto, because I have defended Floyd on a number of occasions over the years and I felt let down. I imagined he would have something special for his fans for his last fight, I was wrong. 20+ years, im 30 years old.... so as a fan im sure you've seen fights you didn't agree with....I have too but hey....lets not act like Mayweather vs Berto was bad as fights like ODLH VS CARPIENTIER I watched the fights anyway because im a boxing fan...worse case scenario is not getting fights at all Just like people who don't support PREMIER BOXING CHAMPIONS...I remember watching world title fights for free in the late 80's to 90's then it died in the 2000's only had FSN and Friday night fights on espn on free tv for a long time...even remember SRL trying to promote either way...im watching whether I like the fight or not...fights are won in the ring not on forums so if its a fight, im on the edge of my seat I remember this too!
