I don't think he was impressed. He was saying it was too easy, the way N'Dam was dropping. He didn't to be disrespectful and say outright that it was definitely that N'Dam just has a bad chin, but I think that's what he was trying to say. You got Quillin dropping this guy 6 times, and Lemieux dropping him 4 times. That is 10 knock downs vs the only two top 10 MW's he fought. It's clear that GGG is not impressed by N'Dam. He just did not want to say his honest opinion because he didn't want to be disrespectful, he kinda left it up in the air. But if you read between the lines, you could tell he really felt "that was too easy because you were not facing an opponent with a very good chin".
11 knock downs from 2011-2015, that is just not good at all. That does not look like a good chin any way you slice it. That's like the amount of KD's Khan has suffered his entire boxing career, amateurs included.
Yes, you can take it either way since that is what he said. Still, Lemieux is a bona fide KO artist. If anyone gets hit enough by Lemieux, they will get stung badly and if not the first time then eventually will be dropped.
Same goes with GGG. A few fights ago GGG was hit and appeared to be off balance and came back with a punch that dropped his opponent. Again, looked off balance and didn't appear he could get enough on it. Scary stuff.
They have different type KO power. Lemieux gets speed on his punches. GGG's is just heavier fisted.
For Face Off type shows to really work, you need 2 dudes who really have a rivalry and don't like each other. Off the top of my head, I'll sat Klitchko and Haye had the best one.
GGG and Lemieux seem pretty professional and cool with each other, and to top of it off, they barely speak English.
I like both dudes, but this was a pretty subpar show. I'm still going to watch the fight...
You're not entirely wrong.
This might be the first time a fighter doesn't need good English that doesn't speak Spanish. Selling out MSG is very impressive.
what about pacquiao?
I look forward to the fight.
Lack of English skills can impact a guys popularity.

There were some interesting lines.
GGG was amazed by the way Lemieux kept on dropping N'Dam.
Both have a high KO%: 91% vs 86%
It may end up being, who can withstand his opponents punches better will win this.
Golovkins skill wins the fight.
I don't see David standing and trading like he says. He will get outlandish 3-4/1 if that happens. I'm expecting him to hit and run.
That Face Off was awesome, the way GGG talked about the beating he gave to Stevens was scary. "We have time, we have twelve rounds to show him respect, beat him, beat him, beat him until he respects me and respects the sport of boxing."
GGG seems like an interesting person, sure he has a colorful history. I wonder why wonder HBO didn't have a full 24/7 series for this fight.
It was better than I thought it would be but only decent. The Road To show was great, however.
My favorite Face off was Provo vs Alvarado. Provo spoke Russian but the way his translated words came across were scary...like this is a true warrior that is sick in the head. I respect Golovkin for making a great effort in speaking english during interviews but it is very difficult for him to explain his thoughts.
Golovkin really needs a long 24/7 to talk about his back story, his twin, his older brothers that were killed, etc but I think HBO may be saving that for a superfight like against Canelo.

He's speaking English to cater to retards like us who only know one or two languages tops, you should be grateful both of them even bothered their asses to try and learn English unlike some i.e. Lara and Rigo.
Cool, he still sounds goofy though
i think golovkin's broken english has its best effect in short interviews. seeing him try to express more complex thoughts is frustrating (reminds me of my own attempts to speak french)

... Actually GGG can't "think in English"... hence his very poor 'speech acts'... :)
Their accents ruined it. Golovkin sounds so goofy he should just speak his native language. Probably would make him seem scarier

I got some thoughts. Always thought Golovkin was this nice, likable guy but he said he kept Stevens around longer to punish him. Yeah and that's how Vic Darchinyan sent that poor Mexican guy with a family into a coma. I disapprove of that ****. He's right about this isn't a game and that kinda makes me want Lemieux to KHTFO.
I always cheered against Darchinyan after that admission so I would to be consistent after all. :FlagCanad !!

I repeatedly said here: Golovkin needed more rounds in the ring... Therefore he carried Stevens, Adama, Murray, Monroe... GGG floored them all in the early rounds, then "toyed" with them... :)
