Average armspan or reach is equal height.
If you take an average reach in inches and convert it to feet you'll see its usually the same as the height.
Thats what DaVinci's Man in Square and Circle, or Virtruvian Man, shows.
5'8'' is 68 inches and Mayweather's reach is 72'' so that's pretty long. It looks long too.
Yes williams a massive reach. I think one of the longest in all boxing even up to hw?
I'm not too sure about that, its not something I've looked into to be honest, all I know is boxrec have listed his reach as 79" which is very long even for a guy that's over 6ft tall.
Crisanto Espana.
Woah, just watched his fight against Meldrick Taylor. He's got some Paul Williams arms on him. He must have been a nightmare for the welterweights in the 90s.
winky is not 5'11. i've seen him listed as low as 5'9 in tales of the tape.
Yeah 5'9" or 10" sounds about right.

He definitely utilized those long arms with his jab and ear muff defense.
Mayweather has a pretty long reach compared to his height, as does Broner. Paul Williams isn't particularly short but he has really long arms, hes pretty much an albatross lol.

Just what I was going to say.
Now I'm not sure what the average reach for a man who is 5'8'' should be but Mayweather has 72" and he always looks like he has long arms. It helps him fire that right hand in and keep his jab poking out. At 5'8'', Mayweather fights like someone who is much taller.

I think most the times they get the heights wrong, they said Canelo Alvarez was 5ft7 but when he stood beside Floyd he looked marginally taller and he is listed at 5ft9 now.
So I'd say 5ft7 is probably realistic
I'm pretty sure the 5'8'' is accurate, as he looked a solid couple inches taller than Pacquiao who is listed as 5'6''. Plus we have to take boxrec at face value otherwise we shouldn't use the reach stats either.
But yeah, Canelo seems to have grown 2 inches in his 20s lol

For a guy who stood 5′ 1½″ with a reach of 65" at WW
Barbados Joe Walcott was a badass puncher.
i dunno what winky's reach was.
but winky was only 5'9 or so and seemed to jab everyone to death.
Winky is 5'11 .
He has extremely long arms and big hands
uncle rog has a 73.5 inch read at 5' 7.5"....that's freakish
Sonny liston was 6'0" with an 80+ reach
Gilberto Roman had extremely long arms for a junior bantamweight idk his reach, as did Rafael Bazooka Limon
He's listed as 5'8'' isn't he?

sonny liston was only 6 ft.
but his reach was supposedly 84 in.
that's 3 in. more than 6'6 wlad and 5 in. more than 6'7 vitali.
Did anyone see Ioka vs Sosa, Sosa was shorter, but had long arms, and a really short torso. His elbows came to the top of this trunks, while his gloves protected his chin. Kinda like Winky, but without a great jab.
