Prime Mosley went 0-4 against these guys, he was great fighter in his prime but he had no answer for them honestly IMO these where prolly shane's toughest fights not to mention I think a prime winky/forest is prolly better than everyone on may's, pac's and maybe even oscar's resume.
So the question is do you think a prime may could beat these two and beat them in the respective rematches and go 4-0 against them? Could he make it look easy like he did in the canelo fight?
Also bonus question. Could Prime oscar or pac do it?
Floyd never fights them imo. They were just too big.
The real question is Oscar, and I don't think he comes out 4-0 but could very easily see him at 3-1 or 2-2 against them.
Forrest, on his best night, could beat anyone. He nearly KOed Mosley in the first fight and just beat him down in both matchups. Beat him much more convincingly than anyone else, when Mosley was in his prime.
Winky would probably lose to all of them. The guy was a total stinker, didn't throw a lot of punches and could get out worked.
There is a reason oscar avoided winky.
Winky boxes circles around his ass and wins 11-1
Oscar didn't avoid Winky. It's just when everyone is calling you out you can only fight so many fighters. Can't fight everyone.
Was talking with some guys at work who are huge maywaether fans and they even said no lol.
LarryXXX and Brush, do you guys think Money may could do it?
Not even close. Winky can counter just as good as Floyd and has an equivalent IQ. Winky gave Hopkins a fight for his life who people argue has one of the best ring IQ's and he was fighting him at 170, when wink fight's at 147. Wink and fought a close match with Jermain Taylor when he was closer to him prime after beating hopkins. Winky CRUSHED Tito Trinidad before white whashes became popular with Floyd.
Winky Ruins Floyd becasue he would have pressured Floyd non stop and had the skills to keep coming forward behind a good D and wicked body punching. ODH loses obviously becasue he couldn't even handle Felix Sturm who is a winky "light" version.
Manny get's capped and outboxed much like He Did against Floyd, Manny is a brawler not a boxer and Winky was a southpaw which neutralizes his advantage. Winkys Jab keeps his ass on the outside and on the end of that stick consider Manny has no jab to speak of.
Winky at 147 in his prime is a throwback ATG!
Winky fought at 154 and 160
I don't think Floyd could handle either of them. The reason Oscar had success was because of his long jab, which he want away from.
Winky and Forrest both had excellent long accurate consistent jabs. Would have been a nightmare.
Floyd would have had a nightmare with Wright, he would have kept the jab in his face all night, and he never leaves and countering opportunities. Hopkins had limited success in an ugly fight because he had the size to rough him up.
Floyd couldn't rough him up, and I have a very hard time seeing Floyd getting through Winkys high guard defense with potshots, while Winky is pumping that consistent jab.
Here is Winky getting jobbed vs Vargas.
Its nothing you can show me on either fighter that I haven't seen myself. Wright was just my avi on here. He is one of my favorite fighters of the 2000's. And Forrest is one of maybe 5 welterweights that I would pick to beat floyd.
But back to the topic
I agree with you that the jab is the number one weapon to beat floyd and both fighters had great jabs. But the same way shane mosley was able too make the 2nd fight close against both fighters floyd could have done more against both guys. We are not talking about today's floyd mayweather. We are talking about prime at the weights.
I think floyd would lose at least once to vernon.
Floyd against winky is a easier fight for floyd only due to winky having one weapon. The jab is key to beating floyd. But you have to have another weapon with it. Ie. Power. Floyd is a better fighter than tito, vargas, and mosley. He is vulnerable to the jab no doubt. But he is a versatile fighter fighter who can adapt if you are not versatile as well.
Winky floyd is a 55/45 fight floyd way to me.
Forrest floyd is a 50/50 fight to me.
Pac can't handle either due to low ring IQ
Pac wright 70/30 wright way
pac/Forrest 80/20 Forrest way
Oscar wins one against both guys.
Oscar winky 50/50 fight
Oscar Forrest 52/48 forrest way
Forrest too quick and lengthy for Floyd and Pac. De La Hoya/ Forrest is a great match up. Forrest had unsuspecting power and great technique. Fortunately all three base most if not all their fighting off boxing unlike Mayorga. That makes a difficult for all against a tall, fast, powerful boxer in Forrest.
Winky is a great boxer but so was De La Hoya... At 154 though, a believe it is a toss up. Unlike much of the opposition that beat De La Hoya, Winky wasn't (in my view) gifted with Amazing athletic gifts like Tito(Power), Pac(Speed),Mosley(Speed,Power,PEDs) but he did have the skill to put up a hell of a fight!!!
1. Floyd beats both of with no rematch. I think Forrest would be more of a threat because of his jab and big right hand.
2. I think Oscar beats Forrest and loses to Wright.
3. Manny beats Wright and loses to Forrest.

Truthfully speaking there is a reason why Floyd And De La Hoya avoided Ronald Winky Wright like the plague. DLH Lost to Felix Sturm which is essentially a watered down winky wright style and DLH and i t gave him fits. Not considering he Floyd has his "issues" with Jabs now imagine a guy who built sturdy with a non stop counter pressure style who can box and has one of the best jabs of all time. It's Floys Mayweathers worst nightmare. He gave problems to guys at Middleweight fighting two div above his effective weight class. But boxing is politics and Winky wasn't a big name until he was given a shot, Beat the bricks of Shane who was NEVER the same after those two fights, Winky snatched that soul. And he would have done it to anyone at 147 in his prime vs their prime.
i agree. Only boxing newbies and fanboys think floyd would beat either winky or forrest. These are the same so called "fans", who overrate floyd and roy on this site. He loses to both. Floyd can't even stop a good jab. If you have a good jab, you will land it on floyd, just like if you had a good left hook, you would land it on ali. These are facts. He would get hit with both of their jabs all night long.
+1...................................................
I agree....

Floyd would lose at least once to Vernon Forrest in my opinion. Floyd could probably get by winky twice.
Pac would lose to both men twice in my opinion.
Oscar could probably get a split with both

Some people here seem to remember Oscar as being some really technical fighter.
He wasn't, he was as much a brawler as there was. He just had really fast hands and combination speed.
That's why he was so loved, dude came forward and let his hands go. I'd Say the Vargas fight was the first time he became more technical and measured.
Yeah Oscar really came foward and let his hands go against Trinidad :dunce:
Prime Mosley went 0-4 against these guys, he was great fighter in his prime but he had no answer for them honestly IMO these where prolly shane's toughest fights not to mention I think a prime winky/forest is prolly better than everyone on may's, pac's and maybe even oscar's resume.

Prime Oscar had the best chance against Winky and Forrest. His major disadvantage would have been his gas tank. He could match them both in size and was evenly skilled. Winky was just a broad, strong fighter who applied pressure behind a stiff awkward jab. Forrest had super wingspan and fought tall with good power. Oscar probably wins one and loses 3.
Floyd losses 4, period. Winky uses the Bernard theory and just walks him down and bullies him and wears him down and makes him quit on his stool once. There isn't any rematch. Forrest's jab wins this fight in easy dominating fashion. Forrest is too long and technical for Floyd to win while fighting defensive. He has nothing that Forrest would respect.
Manny is to small. He gets beaten up and around by both. I don't think it's necessary to explain tbh.
Nope. Winky beats them all imo.
Forrest will give them all a hard time.
Forrest is extremely underrated because of his losses to Mayorga, who was just a stylistic nightmare for him.
But those are the only two legitimate losses he has.
He not only hit like a mule, he was long rangy, and knew how to use that range perfectly. Deceptively quick, technically excellent. Deep amateur background.
Only man to ever put Mosley down, besides Pacquiao, and Forrest did it impressively. Mosley was out on his feet at the end of round #2 went to the wrong corner.
This was a bad man.
People forget in boxing that size still matters. WInky and Forrest were big welters and they would most likely beat Pac/May although Pac's sheer speed and power might have given him a chance. Mays stationery, defensive ability doesn't work against a big guy like Forrest. What's May gonna do? Revert to Mayweather of Maidana II or Berto and fight on the outside. NO.
Oscar beats Forrest imo, Oscar was a great big welter. Forrest was merely a very good one. Winky would trouble the hell out of Oscar, the GB hated fighters like that. Clever, quick and defensive minded.
