Yea there were headbutts but that's just an excuse by Kessler to avoid the fact that he got embarrassed and lost every round. Kessler was overrated. He was exactly what you would call a "European robot". It was a tailor made matchup for Ward. The only reason he was a slight underdog was because he wasn't well known at the time. The Super Six played right into Wards comfort zone because got to face 3 European Robots (Froch, Abraham and Kessler).

Kessler was partly to blame as well, even the commentators noted how Kessler wanted no part of the inside fighting and would hold himself. Since Ward got that bad reputation no one wanted to accept that. It's no different from Timothy Bradley, had a reputation for butts but we completely ignored the fact that Alexander excessively holds and it was HE who was at fault for those butts. It didn't matter that Devon would go on his holding spree in fights to come, Bradley still had that bad rep.

Ward was too explosive and awkward for Kessler, but using his head as a battering ram was disgusting.

Kessler was the favorite from the start to win the Super 6. Ward handled him and he had no answer and could not adjust the same way he did against Calzaghe.

I don't think any knowledgeable boxing fan thought Kessler was a bum after Calzaghe beat him. In fact, for a lot of people Kessler was his best win(maybe till the bhop win). Sounds like you're talking out of your arse. Calzaghe got credit for that win, one of his very few good wins. Kessler was far and away calzaghes best win, that was a serious performance by Joe. Joe was one of the best fighters to underachiever in this sport. Took way to many easy fights, waited too long to come to the U.S.A, and only fought old bhop, and old Roy. He had a good career, but could of had a great one.

Fight was ages ago, let it go. Ward fights dirty but clearly outclassed Kessler. Everyone here has seen the fight, and everyone knows what type of fight it turned out to be.
