He traded blow for blow with a lot of fighters. Emmanuel augustus, castillo, Jesus chavez, genero hernandez. He's had some very entertaining fights I've seen em all. But most around here haven't.
LOOOL, trading blow for blow with Ausgustus is a great boxing moment? I know you're a May fan, so why bring him down like that?
btw, me saying Mayweather traded blow for blow is not endorsing this idea that somehow Mayweather was an offensive fighter below 135 or 130.
Recovered from shane bomb..
Ortiz sucker punch..the whole Gatti fight...
Hatton turnbuckle.. recovered from low blow and hit to back of head by Judah...
Most of what defines him and sets him apart is his recuperative powers, defensive mastery..and sneaky shots.
Remember that time he landed 3 straight rights in a row?

Recently I think it's because of age and wear and tear. Prior to that I noticed he was a lot more defensive under his father than he was with Roger.
He's always been defensively sound or had a great defense it's just he wasn't known for it like he has been the last 5-6 years.
Even when he came back in 09 he's been a lot more defensive that whole time.
Career wise, I'd say since Baldomir. That's the first fight I saw him use his more "modern Mayweather" selective style.
But Pretty Boy Floyd was truley dead after Hatton. No coming back after that. That's probably his last great offensive performance IMO.
This is easy,
One of my favorite Floyd moments is him getting rocked and hurt by Shane only to literally come out the corner running right at him and walking him down the whole round.
TBE :burner:
It's funny because back in 06-07 when YouTube was relatively new if you typed in "Floyd Mayweather Jr." or "Pretty Boy Floyd Mayweather" you could only get highlight videos that were entirely clips of him being aggressive and offensive.
There are still there, those old videos.
It's only about the last 5 or so years that the focus has been defense.
pretty boy floyd >>>>> money may

In honor of Floyds retirement: list his best ring moments!
Can someone help me with this because I can't think of any....
Nothing he did is memorable for some reason.
His best "ring moment" wasn't in the ring -- it was when he changed Maidana's gloves, a day prior to the fight!... I never saw it coming!!! :)

Which fights was that?
Imo he became the "safe floyd" after castillo 1. That's when he realized how safe he could fight and win, and he did it in the rematch and didn't look back.
Against zab he was more aggressive but that was against a guy he knew would pack it in early.
And that's kind of my point, floyd has no great moments because he was too safe. Floyd is great fighter with no great moments.
I prefer 130-140 Mayweather without a doubt, most do actually but the beauty of it all is that he left a lot of great performances at those weights. No different from Hopkins at '60, sometimes he's unbearable to watch now in comparison to how devastating he once was.
Now I know you'll go into your typical rant of Hopkins.
feck hopkins.
ducked tito.
There is nothing he can't do offensively.

Cotto and Maidana 1, great fights imo! And seeing the way trashed Gatti.
Gatti was a great performance where he showed fair weather fans the difference between a fighter of his level and Gatti's.
But there was no great moments in that fight it was just a complete ass whooping.
I guess when Floyd was beating him so bad he actually made Gatti turn away while still landing body shots, that was kind of dope, but still, that fight had ass whooping written all over it, Gatti just didn't understand.

I remember him trading, blow for blow with Ndou was it or Corley, someone like that.

"It's like a bomb getting defused"
In the British commentary, I'll never forget that :lol1:
Absolutely loved that line.
