I've seen the fight twice now. First viewing I had it fairly close with Groves winning by 2 rounds. Second viewing it was a clear Groves win and I only gave Jack 3 rounds, or 4 if being generous. Seemed to me that Jack was far too inactive for much of the fight, he had brief moments of success but Groves was much more consistent in his offence throughout the fight.
So, who do you think actually won the fight for real?
I'm shocked to say that Jack actually beat Groves. He shocked me just like in his last fight against Dirrell. Badou Jack is no joke.
Rooted for Groves but felt Jack won a close yet clear decision.
I wanted to see Groves win. But he didn't. The right fighter got his hand raised.
Pretty much all these. I was pulling for Groves but didn't really care who won to be honest. I watched the fight on a stream and watched the fight in spots as I was hosting friends over. From what I saw was Jack controlling the pace of the fight where Groves couldn't really fight his fight. Thought in terms of rounds won it was close and the early KD helped Jack pull it out.
The knockdown is the problem area and I think accounts for the confused scoring. Groves did look noticeably stunned and unsteady on his legs immediately after the knockdown so I think, as a result of Jack having such unexpected success so early on in the fight, people are awarding Jack too many brownie points for the limited success that he had after the knockdown, even though he was very inconsistent and was made to look almost pedestrian at some points by Groves.
Your logic can be used in a way u wouldn't like..
Could say the same thing about khan-maidana. Had early success then turned into a drunk roadrunner...
I voted Groves by accident, no way he won nor was it close enough for him to have been given the decision. Jack worked the jab better and seemed the stronger man throughout. Groves had a nice run I think rounds 5-8, but he started gassing from the effort and body shots. Jack took that fight clean.
Jack won the fight fair and square. Groves has always been overrated, he's a decent fighter but he can't cut the mustard at the top level. Froch proved that twice and now Jack reinforced it.
Jack won. Due to the knockdown plus Groves fading late.
Groves should go back to Adam Booth. He seems to be getting worse instead of better since switching trainers.

Don't even entertain this thread lol. Op and maybe 2 other people (also from UK) are the only ones that think groves won. Oh and Amir khan too of course
