Time to rank Mayweather. He has had a great career, often rated among the best defensive boxers ever. He does not hold any records (Pac has 8 titles in 8 weight divisions; Ricardo Lopez retired 54-0 (1 draw); Armstrong held 3 titles in 3 weight divisions simultaneously; Robinson won and recaptured middleweight title 5 times; Joe Louis had 26 title defenses over almost twelve years).
But Mayweather, when it comes to fighter vs fighter skills comparison, was near flawless. It is for this reason that I rank him this way in my all time great pound for pound rankings.

So when he said TBE he wasnt even close to the top 10.
what a sham, I hope all his fans who fell in love with his persona ask for their money back, false advertisement. They bought his product beliving the sales pitch "TBE" smh this is actually illegal.
I think Floyd can actually hold his own but there all time great fighters that would have him totally outclassed.

Decent list, based on the mythical idea of h2h. Is that your main criteria?
That is a very solid 1-30 ranking and I agree with most of it actually. Few points I dont:
- I find it interesting Marciano retired undefeated at 49-0 and beat #s 5, 7 and 19 yet he is not even ranked in the top 30. I just find that very odd?
- Muhammad Ali is ranked too high. I know this is not a popular stance but I feel he is overrated and always has been. His famous name is what gets him ranked so high all the time I feel. I'd put him probably between 12-18.
- I think Pac should be at least in the high teens or twenties. That "8 division title" run is bs we all know that and I find it hard to rank someone as high as he is who has been stopped as many times as he has (3) and outboxed by people who are either below him or not on this list (Morales, JMM and Floyd).
- I would maybe consider LaMotta somewhere in the top 30?
I think over time modern fighters will be appreciated more to be honest. I think in addition to Floyd and Pac, JMM or even Wlad K. may break into the top 30 of all time possibly.
Rocky Marciano is ranked top 40. He beat 35 year olds. Joe Louis was old. Ezzard Charles was a light heavy. Lucky punch against Walcott.
Watch videos of Willie Pep, Sugar Ray Leonard, and Floyd Mayweather. Heavyweight Ali still looked faster than these three guys despite being 215 lbs. pre-Vietnam.
During boxing events Sugar Ray Leonard is always introduced as a "5 weight division world champion". This even though when he beat Donny LeLonde, he was fighting the number 4 ranked light heavyweight in the world at a catchweight of 168 lbs. He won two of his 5 titles in this one fight, namely, LeLonde's light heavy title and the brand new Super Middleweight title which was created especially for Leonard. Despite this, Leonard is and will always be a "5 weight division" champion. Pacquiao's 8 titles is even more sticky. It will be his calling card for eternity. Plus, he was Fighter of the Decade. This fact can never be changed short of having a time machine.
As for Jake LaMotta, I think he may be top 30. But who in my top 30 list would you fire in order to make room for LaMotta?
Marquez is top 40. Wlad would have a hard time breaking the top 100. Remember, he is winning because of size advantage. He is a super heavyweight fighting heavyweights. If he were the same size (weight and dimensions) as Haye, he probably would have lost.

I started watching boxing in 1986. I read all the lists and read all the books and watched the fights on video. My list is based on my experience. I'm quite comfortable with my list.

Marciano has a very weak resume, only a handful of his last fights were actually against top 10 ranked opponents. The great fighters he beat, he did so when they were past it and in some cases not in their prime weight class.
Floyd is top ten easily. Floyd has made the sweet science look so easy that now it is under appreciated by most fans. He is the best defensive fighter of all time.Has great footwork, excellent chin, and his pull back right hand is a thing of beauty. He can never be number 1 because of his era. I would love see someone beat him by outboxing him just to see what they would do.

Floyd Mayweather had 26 champion fights and won them all and he did it at 5 different weight classes, with him winning a title at the highest weight class he fought at 3 different times, so consider that.
Also there rankings are unfair to fighters from the modern era (1980- now) cuz boxing was very different before that, the weight classes were different, the ranking system was different, the money and the business of boxing in general is totally different, u can't fight 100-150 times now anymore if u r at the highest level and u can't take tune up fights, go look at Robinson's record, he had 21 title fights in 200 fights.
And ranking Manny Pacquiao above Floyd Mayweather is absolute bologna

Awful list.
Tunney too low along with Greb.
I think Jose Napoles the great Cuban welterweight champion for years was better pound for pound than any one on your list. Did you ever see him fight? He was a natural lightweight who could beat any welterweight. The great Mexican featherweight Vincente Saldivar should be high on any list. I'll bet a prime Hearns or Trinidad would knock out most of the welterweights on your list Mayweather included. You may think I am wrong but you can't prove it anymore than I can prove you wrong. Basilio and Gavilan lost a lot of fights as did Sam Langford. Langford was knocked out many times and he fought the same guys over and over sometimes as many as 7 times. It's hard to compare fighters of different eras with different rules.
Trinidad would have been easily outboxed by Floyd. He wouldn't have landed a punch on Floyd. Trinidad was schooled by Winky Wright. A 12 round shut out.

Wlad? Glass jaw destroyed by mediocre fighters. Noooo.
Ali belongs where is, end of story.
Hagler had a better career than Leonard, more successful title defences. He handled everyrone convincingly. Leonard avoided him for 4 years and then was given a gift because everyone expected him to get hurt badly. Everyone forgets Micheal Spinks. He did it all ,great defensive fighter, great punch, cleaned out the light heavyweight divison, was undefeated his whole career until he moved up in weight to fight a peak Mike Tyson. He beat Larry Holmes after putting on 30 pds.
I love Foreman, but he lost whenever someone boxed him.
He is 32-35 alltime.
If stinky stuff comes out on this masking peds scandal of his ,the cheating and illegal iv s than he drops to around top 60.. word is he has cheated since the jmm fight and finally got caught..
Damage control.
