Floyd has accomplished so much in boxing. He's now moving on to the business side of boxing now with TMT Promotion which has all of Al Haymon's fighters.
pretty easy actually. He is a great fighter but he's been terrible for the sport and I will go as far to say he's the single biggest reason the sport is in the shape it's in today. Good riddance.
What would this sport be without Floyd? In the last 10 years give me 5 fights in any weight division that had the anticipation of a Floyd's fights with De la hoya,Hatton,Canelo and Manny. In the mainstream he and Manny is all we had. I'm not a DE LA hoya fan but I would be a fool to say he was not good for boxing.

what you mean the fact because he generates so much money people are opening their pockets again and tv stations are saying yes to putting boxing back on regular tv so we can have more boxing to watch than in recent memory? thats terrible to you?
What a career! I'm out of words tonight. I'm just very happy that I can say I witnessed the "Mayweather era".
Almost two decades of dominance!
Being a Mayweather fan was similar to being a Michael Jordan fan in the 90s.
Mayweather and Jordan set STANDARDS in their respective sports. Fans of Mayweather have been spoiled and happy throughout his reign. The roughest part about being a Mayweather fan was reading the hate from the bigot haters.
Outside of that, it has been a beautiful experience.
My favorite moments as Mayweather fan:
#1 The Chico Corrales boxing clinic. I don't think there has ever been a more impressive and dominating performance in a championship fight featuring 2 undefeated (and dominant) world champions. Mayweather basically showed the boxing world how his career would go from there on out.
#2 Ricky Hatton. It was pure joy to watch Floyd become the first man to KO the Hitman.
#3 Canelo. At this point in Mayweather's career the haters were in their hating prime. Canelo was hyped to the MAX (GGG level hype) going into this fight. And Mayweather basically made it look easy... once again.
Honorable Mention: Jose Castillo rematch. I was just happy as a Mayweather fan that Floyd gave Castillo the rematch. He didn't have to take that rematch. The haters were going to hate regardless. But Floyd proved he had integrity and honor. The same traits that helped him retire undefeated.
It's been real TBE fans... but everything has to come to an end. What a ride!
I have a sneaking suspicion that if someone makes serious noise in the Welterweight division in the next two years, Floyd will make a comeback.
However, if the division stays as average as it is today, we will never see TBE again.
Thanks for a great career and providing your true fans with never before seen greatness.

Not sure about the GGG hype level. I remember the consensus being that he was a young hungry lion that deserved a shot but probably lacked the skills to come out with the win.
I give mayweather credit for taking the fight though, because its one of the few in his career, where he took a risk against a commodity that wasn't fully understood yet.
Just wanted to take some time out to congratulate Floyd on an amazing career. He has been an inspiration to me and many others around the world. Thank you for time and time again risking your health for our entertainment and teaching the true meaning of hard work and dedication. It's truly amazing what he was able to accomplish.
For anyone who wishes to comment, please let's keep it positive. If you were not a fan or have a great dislike for him, you certainly have a right to your own opinion, but it would be nice if we could have at least one purely positive thread about the best boxer of our generation. We are all boxing fans, and to that point, I think he deserves praise from each and every one of us.
So what was your favorite Mayweather fight/moment? I'd probably choose the Corrales fight as my favorite.
Thanks for the memories, champ. Wishing you success in the next stages of your life.
TBE!

When people say floyd is the best ever, are they just being trolls? I mean he's good but I wouldn't go as far as saying the best ever. I know there are businesses for example that pay people to give them good reviews on yelp for example. That's how I feel about floyd fans when they praise him. I never know if they're just trolling or if they're serious. Please some one seriously answer my question .
Very true, just as people now ask "could *fighter* have beaten leonard, duran etc...? Or a few older folk saying people like Floyd couldnt beat Leonard, in a few years Floyd will be the guy that people are putting fighters in a fantasy fight against.
If i have one criticism, it's the same as most, that he is very safety first in the ring. I love to watch his skills, and i can appreciate it but the reason i would like to see him throwing with more intent is because he actually has a beautiful offence when he wants to, he just very seldom uses it.
Yeah i think when he moved up to 147 and his hands got brittle that kind of made him gun shy in a sense, plus the guys hit alot harder so he became even more defensive.
He obviously can dig when he needs to and hurt his opponent, i think his mind has just locked to safety first but hey i guess it made him go 49-0 (ok castillo might have beat him :P) but hes beat every guy hes ever faced so i wont begrudge it too much.
Great career, one of the best ever no matter what anyone says, hell be appreciated more in retirement thats for sure. Id first heard of Floyd when he beat Corrales but i was 12 at that time, the gatti destruction though was when i first recognized how good he really was and followed his career since then 100%.
I've thoroughly enjoyed all his fights with his unbelievable skill set in the ring, put him in with anyone in history from 130-147, not saying hed beat all but he would have a chance with any of them. He will be compared amongst the new era of fighters thats for sure, and then people will appreciate his greatness.

I was never a fan of his fighting style, but he is undoubtedly one of the greatest boxers of all time. I also rank him as the best business man in the history of sport.
Agree with everything you said 100%
Man, that Augustus fight turned out to be a lot more interesting than I think anyone thought it would be. Showed the dog in both of them. I miss Augustus and hope he has recovered well after what happened to him. He was definitely one of my favorites!
Master of the drunken boxing! I enjoyed Augustus. Him and floyd went for broke in that fight.
He did little things to trow me off my rythm- Berto
48 others (including the pinoy Pac) can say the same "I was not myself in front of Mayweather, He hits you but you can never hit him enough to beat him"
I said this in another thread, I don't think we'll ever see a fighter dominate boxing the way that Floyd did, for better or for worse. Expect to see the pound for pound crown shift fighters every year or so from here on out, Floyd's dominance will not be matched for a long time. A true testament to his greatness.

i feel like its gonna be a lot of negativity in here because the main people who say they dont like floyd post more about him than any other fighter.....which is weird. but anyhow;
I'll always remember the fights that didnt get talked about a lot but showed me as a boxing fan what kind of fighter floyd was.
The chavez fight
the n'dou fight
augustus
chop chop corley
also little memorable moments like when he picked the patriots and told lampley he likes micheal vick in the middle of a fight. then came out the corner crip walking to get the k.o
Nice moments indeed.
